Materials • Grocery Lists (Acvity Master) • Food Vocabulary Cards (Acvity Master) • Print Resources (Grocery Store Fliers) • Wring Utensils • Extension: Blank Lists (Acvity Master) Acvity Aſter teacher introducon, children use emergent wring to make grocery lists. 1. Set out grocery store flyers and/or Food Vocabulary Cards (Acvity Master), List Paper, pencils, crayons, or markers. 2. Children will use the flyers/Food Vocabulary Cards to select items they want to “buy” from the store. 3. Children copy words from the flyer and use other emergent wring skills to add items their list. 4. Share with each other in the group. 5. Teacher evaluaon. Adaptaons and Extensions • Sort the list by the inial leer. Teacher makes leer headings (e.g., Aa for apples, Bb for bread, etc.) on the grocery list paper. Children add their words under the correct leer. • Write a Guest List for a “Birthday party” or other type of party.
