Parn is a Bully Free Zone Bullying has, righully, gathered lots of aenon in recent years and is a word that gets used oſten by the public. Someone who bullies repeatedly uses an imbalance of power (both perceived and actual) to physically, mentally, or socially hurt another. While single, one-me, incidents can be very serious and are addressed appropriately and proacvely at Parn Elementary, they are not considered bullying unless the behavior connues and shows an imbalance. There are several resources for parents and students on our school website which address potenal bullying situaons. Two pamphlets are available: one has strategies for students, and the other one has strategies for parents. An anony- mous reporng tool is available for those that wish to remain anonymous. The first line of defense against bullying is the students themselves. Always encourage students to “say something if they see something.” Teachers and other trusted adults at Parn are ready to help. Teach–In November 17th It’s not too late to sign up for Teach-In on November 17. Teach-In high- lights the importance of bringing together teachers, school staff, parents, students, and communies in a unified effort to build great public schools. We'll do our part by giving you some suggesons to prepare you for this volunteer experience with an informave Teach-In Volunteer Guide. Simply fill out a Speaker Registra- on Form or contact your child’s teacher directly. You can always call the front office for more informaon.
