Elizabeth A . Armijoelizabeth.armijo @heart.org

TitleandRole: Member, AF4Q Consumer Engagement Workgroup and Communication Subgroup

PrimaryAffiliationandTitle: Regional Director of Communications and Marketing, American Heart Association South Central Affiliate

Somethingthatpeopledon’tknowaboutmeis: I’m interested in the quality of health care and health policy in our state. I’m also interested in educating, influencing and motivating others to make a difference in their lives, as well as others.

ThebiggestlessonI’velearnedinAF4Q2.0is: That our community is proud of their partnerships and works hard to unite the efforts of others and forge alliances to work towards positive change.

Jo Ann [email protected]

TitleandRole: Member, Consumer Engagement Workgroup

Somethingthatpeopledon’tknowaboutmeis: I hate sauerkraut.

ThebiggestlessonI’velearnedinAF4Q2.0is: Things take time.

John H . [email protected]

Degree: MS

TitleandRole: Analyst, Albuquerque Coalition for Healthcare Quality and New Mexico Medical Review Association

Somethingthatpeopledon’tknowaboutmeis: Many foods trigger adverse non-anaphylactic physiological responses in me. From this, I have gained a special view of the limitations of the current health care delivery system.

ThebiggestlessonI’velearnedinAF4Q2.0is: Price signals play a significant role in affecting consumer health care decisions. However, price signals do not always result in high quality, long term (i.e. “wise”) decisions. Also needed may be a trusted, electronic “Pocket Doc” device that can learn and adapt its health care advice to the consumer’s unique health needs and temperament.
