You may think that being colour blind has hindered me as a designer, but the reality is quite the opposite. It actually helps me by removing any subjective personal likes and dislikes from the process. Instead I calculate the colours I choose mathematically based on the client’s brief and in 13 years I have never had a colour issue with any clients.

Weaknesses: It’s important to recognise my weaknesses and I am still learning how to express myself. I realise I can sometimes come across a little direct, but this is driven by a desire to find the right solutions for my clients.

I believe in SEO and in choosing the right colours and the many other details related to a creative project, but at the same time I think the order in which these details are emphasised is very important. You can start a project with SEO in mind, or you can start with the root of the project. I’m the kind of person who starts from the root and tries to maintain a natural balance between all aspects of a project as it develops, avoiding the exaggeration of a certain aspect.

Regarding the creative environment, I do not believe in digital mythology such as:

“Google God” to which you must sacrifice an entire footer, and if it contains 300 links in a 4 columns menu then the god will reward you by displaying your site on the first page of results based on a search using one keyword from a list with 1000 possible keyphrases.

The “God of Color” to whom you must show respect by choosing the right color and this will reward you by making people bypass physics and nature. It doesn’t matter if your company is called “Blue Burger”, you have to put the color “Red” because so say the laws of millions of articles written by unqualified people in desperation to create articles thanking “Google God” and so on...

The challenging part of this project was to find a logo that would include the full name of the group of companies:

This is a more complex/advanced project which I am particularly proud of. My client, who owns 4 tattoo studios with an average of 10 artists per location, asked for a platform that could be used to see live results and to facilitate communication between studios.

System features:

- live feed of cash in the safe from each location- analytics on each artist/studio depending on the selected time period- multiple types of analysis on income and expenses- centralised database with clients, customer details and also all consent forms signed and acknowledged by clients- tracking gift vouchers based on unique codes- finance calculator to facilitate quick offer to customers by front-of-house employees- income forecast based on advance bookings of each artist- tracking the enquiries and the ability to compare them with the different promotion campaigns carried out on different platforms
