The Calcium Chloride Producon Project at Khur-Biabanak Potash Plant is located at 25 km east of the city of Khur on the road connecng Khur and Tabas. Khur is the center of the Khur-Biabanak County and is the easternmost city in Isfahan Province located in Central Iran with the elevaon of 796 m from the sea level. The project was designed to produce 30,000 metric tons per year of Anhydrous Calcium Chloride (CaCl 2 powder). The feed brine is recovered from evaporaon ponds and mixed with slaked lime (Ca(OH) 2 ) to produce magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH) 2 ) and calcium chloride (CaCl 2 ). NOVOPRO provided the detailed designs of the following equipment: Filter press for magnesium hydroxide removal Rising film evaporator for calcium chloride brine enrichment Spray drier/cooler for calcium chloride powder crystallizaon NOVOPRO also conducted a Feasibility Study for the opmisaon of carnallite ponds, pond modelling for increasing output of carnallite harvest.
