AIR POLLUTION Raudel Garcia & Cesar Aguiar Geography 110 Professor L. Schmidt
WHAT IS AIR POLLUTION? Air pollution is when the air contains gases,
dust, fumes, or even odors which affect our environment.
Substances that cause air pollution are called Pollutants, which are pumped into the atmosphere on a daily basis causing damage.
People’s daily actions affect the air such as using gasoline vehicles, working in factories, smoking, and the use of aerosol cans
WHERE IS IT OR WHERE IS IT HAPPENING?
Air pollution is literally everywhere around the globe.
China happens to be on the top 10 cities for worst air pollution in the world.
Air pollution grows everyday and its even worse in some other larger cities.
A large portion of it is here in Southern California. Large cities like Los Angeles are known to have
excessive levels of air pollution which ultimately affect us all.
HOW DOES IT AFFECT LIFE ON EARTH? Over the years, air pollution has worsened which has
brought us numerous complications to our health as well as our environment.
Many people suffer from short and long term effects such as pneumonia or bronchitis heart disease lung cancer respiratory diseases, (emphysema) We breath approximately 3000 gallons of air each day, with
all the contamination from pollution we are surely damaging our bodies.
HOW IS LIFE ON EARTH AFFECTED BY IT? The pollution not only affects humans but nature as well. The ozone layer is getting thinner due to all the smog, soon
allowing the sun’s radiation to enter the planet and cause more problems.
Ice and frozen grounds are melting putting in danger the habitat’s of animals as well as their lives.
Ocean levels will rise due to the melting of ice shields. Causes clouds with sulfuric acid. Plants grow weak and slow harming vegetation. Poor air quality
