Your job is to bring your issues to the forefront of your legislators minds � Introduction and background on yourself � Tell them what your are advocating for � Tell them what you want � Make the ask!! � Invite them to stop by for lunch

How should you follow up? Most advocates do not follow-up on their communications with policy makers and then wonder why their legislator did not do what they were asked to do � “I’d like to follow-up by..” � “Can I get contact information for the
appropriate people in you office?” � Offer to be a resource for them � THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME AND
THE WORK THAT THEY DO!!!!
