Their music takes traditional rhythms and chants from their own Ga tradition and those of a variety of other West African cultures, rearranging them in a modern and accessible way. This work shop is held in conjunction with Indigenous People, a Brighton based non-profit cultural education organisation.

Music As therApy For this year’s Afriganza our charitable partner is the brilliant Music as Therapy International (MAST) and in particular their Rwanda project.

Music as Therapy International is a UK registered charity that helps to facilitate the delivery of projects taking therapeutic music-making to vulnerable communities across the world. Their aim is to improve the quality of life for marginalised and disadvantaged children and adults with a range of disabilities. They have been working in Rwanda since 2010 where they have delivered a successful six-week skill-sharing project in two Children centres in South-West Rwanda and have been providing support since. Music as Therapy International is hoping to expand their work in Rwanda in 2013.

10% of all weekend tickets and food sold will be donated to Music as Therapy’s Rwanda project.
