fridAy bAss clefProducer of carefully crafted electronic dance music, occasional trombonist and sonic adventurer, Bass Clef is a genres crossing genius, switching between Detroit-techno and 4/4 grooves quite efirtlessly. With African influences across most of this work, Bass Clef in his own words “…my music has mutant strains of afrobeat,, juju, kuduro, kwaito, cumbia, soca, soca, more soca, grime, UK funky… well to me anyway. It’s all just music innit? It’s up to you guys to decide what it’s called!”.

london AfrobeAt collective The LAC began in 2008 as a loose affiliation of more than 30 musicians from all corners of the globe who found themselves sharing nothing more than a London postcode and a love of Fela Kuti. ‘London

Afrobeat Collective’ was exactly what it said on the tin. Now a tight 12 piece, they have been championed by Micheal Eavis, Craig Charles and welcomed into a global Afrobeat family with open arms – in short, they’re bloody marvellous.

bro n z eh e Ad BronzeHead is a 10-piece group from London, formed in 2010 to make new music inspired by the raw & heavy funk rhythms of 1970’s West Africa. During this era, bands in countries like Nigeria, Ghana & Benin mixed traditional African rhythms together with funk & soul to form thrilling new genres such as Afrobeat, Afrofunk & Highlife. These sounds have incited dancefloor chaos for decades, and at the very core of BronzeHead is the desire to do just that.

A brutal civil war (1991-2002) forced them from their homes in Sierra Leone. Through music they find a place of refuge, a sense of purpose and a source of power.
