MAF was founded by World War ll pilots who had a vision for how aviation could be used to overcome barriers of terrain and take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

1945

Pilot Betty Greene flew the first MAF plane, a 1933 red Waco biplane, on its inaugural flight, transporting 2 Wycliffe Bible translators to a remote jungle location in Mexico.

1946 MAF came to worldwide attention when MAF pilot Nate Saint and four other missionaries were martyred in Ecuador by Auca Indians.

Since those days, MAF has grown and evolved to meet the changing needs of the isolated and impoverished people it serves.

MAF-US serves more than 600 Christian and humanitarian organizations through: AVIATION A fleet of 60+ aircraft flying 2.7 million miles each year in the remote regions of the world. COMMUNICATIONS Communication services to isolated areas worldwide, including email, HF/VHF radios, VSAT broadband Internet access, and networking solutions. LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES Strategic distance learning tools and support to meet the critical need for trained Christian leadership in developing countries.

is a ministry to which every Christian is called. The rewards are as great for those who pray and send as for those who go to the front lines of missions.

Now is the time.GIVE Your support will make a

difference. $100 provides 80 pounds of food to hungry people in remote areas. $150 provides 3,500 vaccines for children to protect them against polio, diphtheria, measles and other illnesses. $200 delivers 100 Bibles to villagers in their own language. $221 flies an indigenous pastor to remote churches to lead congregations, train new leaders, and show the “JESUS” film to those who have not heard the Good News. $75 delivers 60 pounds of school supplies to equip students and enable them to learn. $1,920 provides 320 gallons of jet fuel for MAF planes enabling thousands of isolated people to see the compassion of Jesus Christ in action.

Our Advocate Wing is a team of volunteers across the country which shares the life-transforming ministry of MAF with their friends, family, churches, and others. As an Advocate, you have a terrific opportunity to educate people in your community about MAF’s role in Overcoming Barriers, Transforming Lives and Building God’s Kingdom.
