What is the Ad for

• This advert is selling the video game Black ops two.

Who is the target audience

• The main target audience is teenagers and young adults but it’s trying to attract anyone who plays video games.

What form does the ad take

• This advert is a stand alone advert and is half live action and half animated but there was a similar advert made for a different game that was a success and inspired this advert.

What is the style of the advert

• This advert is very humourist throughout and is also very surreal and parody like with its little jibes at certain celebrities movies and internet videos.

• sex • slogan • intertextuality • entertainment • flattery.

Does the ad follow AIDA• Attention(the advert grabs attention by throwing us into the action of the

city making us want to know what’s happening.)• Interest(the advert keeps us interested by showing all the different stars

trying to kill each other and all the action.)• Desire(tagline ‘there’s a soldier in all of us’ makes people want to play the

game to explore theirs)• Action(it promotes action with its persuasion at the end, ‘pre-order now

to get the 2025 nuke town map’.)

Mise-en-scene/iconography

• There is a lot of dark colours throughout but the character at the start is wearing orange which gets our attention. The white horse.

Lighting

• The whole trailer has pretty dull lighting except for when there’s explosions which probably amplified them.

Camera shot, movement, angle, composition

• The whole thing is done in one shot except for the very end, there is a total of three shots and has a large diversity of shots and angles, mostly establishing shots.

• The whole thing is done in one shot except for the end which has an over the shoulder shot and a medium shot.)

Sound effects/music

• it is full of sound effects and dialogue and also has ACDC back in black soundtrack.

Special FX

• Nearly the whole background is computer generated and a lot of the action is but there are a lot of blank rounds and a couple of real explosions.
