This meeting was held to initiate the bid phase for the above referenced project. School Officials, the Construction Manager, and the Design Team Representatives introduced themselves to those present. C. Crolius reviewed the following administrative requirements: • Bids are due on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 3:30 PM at this location. At this time, the District does not

anticipate extending the bid date. • Anyone wishing to visit the site after today can contact Doug Deeb at 315-857-7659 to make arrangements. • All questions are to be submitted to MARCH Associates via email by the end of tomorrow. MARCH

Associates anticipates issuing an Addendum on Friday, or worst case, Monday morning to all the planholders.

• The project has (5) separate prime contracts. The Sitework Contract includes an alternate for the access

road and a $50,000 contingency allowance, as well as unit prices. The General Contract includes (2) alternates for work in various classrooms, a $150,000 contingency allowance, and several unit prices.

The Plumbing Contract includes a $30,000 contingency allowance. The Mechanical Contract includes (1) alternate and a $75,000 allowance. The Electrical Contract includes a $75,000 contingency allowance. C. Crolius advised contractors that they are to include their overhead and profit in the Base Bid, not in the contingency allowances. If allowance funds are expended, than a change order will be written with the appropriate mark-up. At the completion of the project, any unspent allowance funds will be returned to the Owner via credit change order.

• Contractors were reminded to carefully review Section 01 11 00, Summary of Work. Also contained in the

contract documents is a Phasing Plan. It was noted that the Phasing Plan will have some slight modifications that will be included in the Addendum. The area adjacent to the Phase 1 area that is currently called “Phase 4” will be revised to “Phase 2”. C. Crolius gave an overview of the phases and noted that the District will be cooperative and work with the low bidders to advance the project based on the milestones. In addition, the Design Team will be clarifying the scope of work between the Electrical and General Contractors as it relates to the Stage Rigging and Stage Lighting.

• It was noted that there will be some modifications made to the drainage work associated with the Sitework

Contract. • D. Jadlowski noted the Addendum will incorporate the modifications to allow the splice of the large beam

in the Auditorium.

• Contractors requested Budget Estimates for the work. D. Deeb furnished the following budget numbers: Sitework $1,000,000 General $3,150,000 Plumbing $400,000 Mechanical $1,400,000 Electrical $925,000

This completed the Pre-Bid Conference at which time Contractors were allowed access to the building.

PART 3 EXECUTION3.01 EXAMINATION

A. Verify that sub-floor surfaces are smooth and flat within the tolerances specified for that type ofwork and are ready to receive carpet.

B. Verify that wall surfaces are smooth and flat within the tolerances specified for that type of work,are dust-free, and are ready to receive carpet.

C. Verify that sub-floor surfaces are dust-free and free of substances that could impair bonding ofadhesives to sub floor surfaces.

D. Verify that required floor-mounted utilities are in correct location.3.02 PREPARATION

A. Prepare floor substrates for installation of flooring in accordance with Section 09 05 61.3.03 INSTALLATION - GENERAL

A. Starting installation constitutes acceptance of sub-floor conditions.B. Install carpet and cushion in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and CRI 104

(Commercial).C. Verify carpet match before cutting to ensure minimal variation between dye lots.D. Lay out carpet and locate seams in accordance with shop drawings.

1. Locate seams in area of least traffic, out of areas of pivoting traffic, and parallel to maintraffic.

2. Do not locate seams perpendicular through door openings.

3. Align run of pile in same direction as anticipated traffic and in same direction on adjacentpieces.

E. Install carpet tight and flat on subfloor, well fastened at edges, with a uniform appearance.3.04 DIRECT-GLUED CARPET

A. Double cut carpet seams, with accurate pattern match. Make cuts straight, true, and unfrayed. B. Apply contact adhesive to floor uniformly at rate recommended by manufacturer. After sufficient

open time, press carpet into adhesive.C. Apply seam adhesive to the base of the edge glued down. Lay adjoining piece with seam

straight, not overlapped or peaked, and free of gaps.D. Roll with appropriate roller for complete contact of adhesive to carpet backing.E. Trim carpet neatly at walls and around interruptions.F. Complete installation of edge strips, concealing exposed edges on main level of auditorium.

Bind cut edges where exposed on balcony level of auditorium.3.05 INSTALLATION ON STAIRS

A. Use one piece of carpet for each tread and the riser below. Apply seam adhesive to all cutedges.

B. Install carpet with pile direction in the length of the stair.C. Adhere carpet tight to stair treads and risers.

3.06 CLEANINGA. Remove excess adhesive from floor and wall surfaces without damage.B. Clean and vacuum carpet surfaces.
