Operations and maintenance (O&M)plays a key role in ensuring the smooth
functioning of grid and providing reliable
and uninterrupted quality power supply to
our consumers.
By adopting supercritical technology units,
energy efciency has been achieved. Grid
blackouts are avoided by complying with
the grid code. Installation of advancedtechnological emission control systems such
as Flue Gas Desulphurization, Electrostatic
Precipitators, and SOx/NOx Reduction
Burners as well as monitoring ambient noise, air quality, and emissions at plant locations
aids in preservation of the local ecosystem.
For enhancing its competency, the O&Mfunction imparts expert training to its
employees along with practicing mechanized
and automated housekeeping methods.

Integrating
innovation and
efciency
High Voltage DirectCurrent (HVDC)Transmission
HVDC is a rewall against cascading
disturbances and it improves transmission
efciency. HVDC system also requiresfewer towers thereby reducing the number
of right of way issues when compared to
an equivalent AC system. HVDC enables
Controlled Power Exchange (125 MW to2500 MW) and aids in power transmission
and stabilisation between asynchronous
AC distribution systems. Overall, HVDC
improves the (inter-region) grid stability.
Key achievements
First private company in India to build
HVDC system over 1000 kms withmaximum capacity of 2500 MW
