Email• Electronic mail, most commonly

referred to as email or e-mail.

• is a method of exchanging messages from any person to one or more recipients.

• Modern email today can be used with the help of the internet.

Wiki• A wiki is a Web site that allows users

to add and update content on the site using their own Web browser.

• A great example of a large wiki is the Wikipedia.

• The term "wiki" comes from the Hawaiian phrase, "wiki wiki," which means "super fast."

Social Bookmarking• A social bookmarking service is a

centralized online service which enables users to add, annotate, edit, and share bookmarks of web documents.

• Social bookmarking does not save the resources themselves.

HTML• Stands for “Hyper-Text Markup

Language.”• Also known as hypertext documents• Web pages must conform to the rules

of HTML in order to be displayed correctly in a Web browser.

Podcast• It is also called netcast • It is a digital medium consisting of an

episodic series of audio, video, PDF files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication.

• It can be streamed online to a computer or mobile device.

VoIP• VoIP stands for Voice over Internet

Protocol. • It is another way of making phone

calls, with the difference of making the calls cheaper or completely free.

Online Chat• It  may refer to any kind

of communication over the internet that offers a real-time transmission of text messages from sender to receiver.

WWW• Stands for "World Wide Web.“

• The Web consists of pages that can be accessed using a Web browser.

Streaming • It is commonly seen in the forms of

audio and video streaming.• It is when a multimedia file can be

played back without being completely downloaded first.

Blog• Short for "Web Log," this term refers

to a list of journal entries posted on a Web page.

• Anybody who knows how to create and publish a Web page can publish their own blog.

Social Networking

• Social networking websites allow users to be part of a virtual community.

• These websites provide users with simple tools to create a custom profile with text and pictures.

URL• It stands for “Uniform Resource

Locator.”• It cannot have spaces or certain

other characters and uses forward slashes to denote different directories.

Web Feed•  A web feed is also sometimes

referred to as a syndicated feed.• It is a data format used for providing

users with frequently updated content.

• It is also called news feed.
