E-mail is defined as mail that is electronically sent Over the internet by computers, smartphones, or other mobile devices. Unlike snail mail, e-mails are sent instantly anywhere in the world. It has the ability to send messages at any time, to anyone, for less money than mailing a letter or calling someone on the phone..

This is The ability to work collaboratively on a document, where everyone may add or edit text. A "wiki" is a type of Web site or tool for doing jointly authored writing using the Internet. The idea is that this kind of "open editing" allows for easy interaction between users and/or groups and is effective in collaborative authoring. It is said that this is the simplest online database. It’s advantages are easy, global access and can be attained at a low cost.

Social bookmarking allows consumers to share their favorite  bookmarks, Web sites, or content with others by submitting links to a public or semi-public forum.

Online chat may refer to any kind of communication over the Internet that offers a real-time transmission of text messages from sender to receiver. Chat messages are generally short in order to enable other participants to respond quickly.

"The Web," as it is more commonly called, can be described as a collection of graphical pages on the Internet that can be read and interacted with by computer. You need an Internet connection, a computer, a Web browser, and a few specialized programs (listed below) in order to access and view this online information.

To "stream" something over the Internet means to transmit a media clip (which could be audio or video or both), over a network, so that it begins to play back as quickly as possible. "Streaming" is an Internet data transfer technique that allows users to see video and hear audio files without lengthy download times. Having said that, with streaming and progressive downloads, either can be fast or slow.

A Web site or social media site where users can post a chronological, up-to-date e-journal entry of their thoughts. Each post usually contains a link. Basically, it is an open forum communication tool that, depending on the Web site, is either very individualistic or performs a crucial function for an organization or company. There are three basic varieties of blogs: those that post links to other sources, those that compile news and articles, and those that provide a forum for opinions and commentary.

On a broad level, it is an online community of people who are socializing with each other via a particular Web site. On an individual level, it is the practice of growing the number of one's business and/or social contacts by networking with individuals. Most of the social networks on the Web are public, allowing anyone to join. It is based on the idea of "six degrees of separation" (the concept that any two people on the planet could meet through a chain of no more than five people), social networking is a popular way to connect socially or professionally with other people!

Uniform Resource Locator. An acronym/term that describes the location and access method of a resource on the Internet; for example, the URL "http://www.netlingo.com" describes the type of access method being used (http-the protocol) and the server location that hosts the Web site (www.netlingo.com-the address). All Web sites have URLs.

Spelled as two words, it refers to RSS, a technology that allows you to see when Web sites have added new content. For example on a news Web site, you can subscribe to the news feed and get the latest headlines and video in one place, as soon as its published. On a social networking site for example, feeds highlight what's happening in your social circles, and on Twitter for example, feeds display what your followers are posting.
