2. Start Microsoft Access and open the database file ch11_01.mdb.

3. Click ‘Queries’ in the ‘Objects’ column and then click .

4. Double-click ‘Design View’ in the ‘New Query’ dialogue box.

5. Double-click ‘CPU’ in the ‘Show Table’ dialogue box to add the table into the Design View window. Then, click to continue.

6. Click from the pull down menu in the row ‘Field’ of the first column. Then, select the field ‘Brand’ to add the field to the Design View window.

7. Add two more fields ‘Product’ and‘Socket’ to the Design View window.

8. Enter ‘LGA771’ into the criteria box of the ‘Socket’ field.

9. Select ‘Queries’ ‘Run’ to execute the query. Alternatively, click the ‘Run’ button on the toolbar. The query result will be displayed in the Datasheet View.

10. Select ‘File’ ‘Save’ to save the query. Enter the query name ‘LGA771 Query’ in the ‘Save As’ dialogue box and then click .

11. Close the query and the database file. Then, exit Microsoft Access.

10. Select ‘File’ ‘Save’ to save the query. Enter the query name ‘LGA771 Query’ in the ‘Save As’ dialogue box and then click .
