With the forth international meeting in Bitonto (Italy) from the 25th to the 28st September 2013 the

second year of the project Acmei – Active Methods for European Integration has passed the first year of its

The meeting coincided with the event BitonToLegality (Bi2Le), organized by Sinergia, in partnership

with the European Network FLARE (Freedom Legality and Rights in Europe), dedicated to the promotion of

legality and social inclusion as strategies to combat crime and deviance, also in reference to the

phenomenon of immigration.lebrated its first year of implementation.

During this Italian Meeting Partners took stock of the situation. The first year of the Grundtivg

Learning Partnership Acmei was focused on the INITIAL RESEARCH about the situation of immigration in

Europe, with specific reference to the countries involved in the consortium (Italy, Spain, Turkey and Poland).

During this meeting the partners have identified the following areas of interest:

Reception and Integration

Education and Training

Labor Market

Social Integration.

They agreed to direct their activities towards the analysis and identification of projects and tools to the

path of integration in the areas mentioned above.

Sinergia Scs presented several important projects that have been manufactured in Italy and represent

examples of good practice to be transferred to other countries and other contexts that have the same needs

expressed.

1) “Interground - citizenship and intercultural education”, which is an educational game for teachers

and students realized by Prof. Alberto Fornasari, Member of Intercultural Pedagogy Laboratory and

other (an individual different as personality and also as culture) and to promote the mutual

enrichment thanks to the development of the relationships.

5) Welfare Camp: it’s an initiative for schools aimed to promote legality, inclusion and active

participation of young people to welfare local policies.

Il will also provide the target groups of a interactive web platform “welfare online” to discuss,

This meeting also saw the participation of foreign partners to one of the largest fields ROM of the

province of Bari, which favors the encounter of two cultures very different from each other: the Roma and

the Italian one.

Roma people live - as their culture provides - in shacks built with recycled materials, but with formal

authorizations by the Municipality and with sanitation services and electricity. Their children go to Italian

schools and some of them have founded a social cooperative, Artezian, which works in cleaning services,

transport, porterage and gardening.

During the meeting it was also presented the documentary video “Just About My Fingers – Stories of

borders and fingerprints”, winner of “Premio Yalla Italia 2013” realized by Paolo Martino.

The documentary shows the migration routes of North Africa, and Greece which is now the main

access point to the European Union for refugees and asylum-seekers in Europe.

Just About My Fingers tells the story of the “network’ boys", young people forced to spend their best

years chasing the dream called "Europe".

The presentation was attended by the protagonist of the documentary Rahell Ali Mohammad, who

gave his testimony as a refugee in Europe.

With the vision of the documentary was completed this fourth transnational meeting heralds new

and upcoming design ideas. It represented yet another step that has helped the network’s implementation,

making it more robust and effective.

We look forward, therefore, the most important collection of best practices that emerge from each

partner in order to build a comprehensive file containing a set of tools for e-learning for teachers, trainers

and other social workers who deal with social and cultural integration in favor of immigrants.
