Cricket Fine art, abstract From Life

More than fifty works have been produced for this exhibition, the subject matter, the starting point, all taken from the visual world observed.

For any artist the reasons for making anything and the wish to express and communicate can be varied, including such ideas as personal experiences and associations, or ‘about’ pure visual stimuli, with or without narrative.

Carey’s art is imbued with such concepts, with the appearance of ‘simplicity’ achieved hard won. therefore the word ‘simplicity’ can be misleading.

the artist’s process and sensibility works towards an intuitive essence for the subject, creating a beautiful pictorial equivalent that achieves something towards a reality ‘more real than reality’ itself.
