About Kinesio
For more than 25 years, Kinesio Taping has been breaking new
ground in the fields of sports performance, pain management and
physical therapy.
The Kinesio Taping Method is designed to facilitate the bodys
natural healing process while allowing support and stability to
muscles and joints without restricting the bodys range of motion.
It is used to successfully treat a variety of orthopedic,
neuromuscular, neurological and medical conditions. Both Kinesio
Tex Tape and the training protocol have shown results that would
have been unheard of using older methods and materials.
In the mid-1970s, Dr. Kenzo Kase was already a well-known
Japanese practitioner licensed in chiropractic and acupuncture. He
developed the tape, which has a texture and elasticity very close
to living human skin, in response to limitations he encountered
working with rigid sports taping methods on his own patients.
Finally, he came up with a tape that possessed the proper degree
of elasticity, and that lifts the skin microscopically. From that
beginning, Kinesio Tex Tape was invented. Its unique properties
were based on a study of kinesiology.
Kinesio Tex Tape is used to
Re-educate the neuromuscular system
Reduce pain
Enhance performance
Prevent injury
Promote improved circulation and healing
Kinesio Tex Gold sets the standard for elastic therapeutic
taping.
It creates a lifting effect on the skins surface, which improves
circulation and relieves pain.
It may be applied using different amounts and directions of
tension, so the tape has the ability to relax or stimulate
muscles.
It is made of gentle cotton fiber.
It features a 100% medical-grade acrylic adhesive.
It is totally latex free.
It does not limit the wearers range of motion.
The distinctive wave-pattern weave moves with the wearers
movements.
It allows for 3 to 5 day wear time to provide 24-hour results to
the patient and to provide for an economical treatment.
Kinesio Taping MethodThe Kinesio Taping Method is a definitive
rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the
bodys natural healing process while providing support and stability
to muscles and joints without restricting the bodys range of motion
as well as providing extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong
the benefits of manual therapy administered within the clinical
setting. Latex-free and wearable for days at a time, Kinesio Tex
Tape is safe for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric,
and successfully treats a variety of orthopedic, neuromuscular,
neurological and other medical conditions. The Kinesio Taping
Method is a therapeutic taping technique not only offering your
patient the support they are looking for, but also rehabilitating
the affected condition as well. By targeting different receptors
within the somatosensory system, Kinesio Tex Tape alleviates pain
and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the
skin. This lifting affect forms convolutions in the skin thus
increasing interstitial space and allowing for a decrease in
inflammation of the affected areas.
With the utilization of single I strips or modifications in the
shape of an X, Y or other specialized shapes as well as the
direction and amount of stretch placed on the tape at time of
application, Kinesio Tex Tape can be applied in hundreds of ways
and has the ability to re-educate the neuromuscular system, reduce
pain and inflammation, enhance performance, prevent injury and
promote good circulation and healing, and assist in returning the
body to homeostasis.

What Patients are saying about Kinesio
I am writing to tell you that for 18 months straight I suffered
from incredible pain, spasm, stiffness, and soreness in both of my
shoulders. I have used Kinesio Tex Tape for not even seven days,
and my pain relief has been strong, effective, and immediate. I can
tell you now that I am functional again and my pain has been
reduced by 95%! Please try this product if you have a myalgic
(muscle pain/spasm) condition!!! Also tendinitis, subluxation,
dislocation... -N.B., Rochester, NY I have had back pain for about
6 months. I started going to physical therapy, and they told me
about Kinesio Tex Tape. I was skeptical at first, wondering how in
the world can pieces of tape help my painbut it did!! After a full
day activity, I was fully expecting my back to be in pain like
usual, but it didn't! For the first time in 6 months my back did
not hurt. I had forgotten what no pain felt like! I was completely
amazed and have been telling everyone about this product!! I am
also amazed at how well it sticks. Even after showering, it stays
in place.
-Amanda Monk, TX "It is a really great product! Everytime I use
it the pain goes away. I will continue to use Kinesio Tex Tape both
on and off the field."-Manny Carrillo, offensive tackle for Cienega
Varsity Football, AZ I have used the product on myself, for chronic
retrocalcaneal bursitis due to running. It has reduced my pain and
inflammation, considerably. It allows me to run more frequently. I
use it with patients now, with good results. -Laureen Coffelt I
just cant believe that Kinesio Tex Tape has done so much for me and
my lupus affecting my hands and fingers. Along with moist heat
treatment, medication, and tape I am able to peel potatoes, put
socks on, sew and type. I still have a ways to go, but to be able
to the simple things is a blessing. Thanks to Kinesio Tex Tape.
-Betty Drda I learned about the tape from a physical therapist. He
used the tape on me and it helped the chronic pain Ive had for many
years due to fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome. I hope more
doctors and therapist will learn to do this because it helps more
than any pain pills, and it doesnt involve wires, batteries, etc
like a micro-current unit. -Mary Ann Martin, New Orleans, LA You
may tell your colleagues, based on an anecdotal 6 weeks study; the
Kinesio Tex Tape seems to relieve 30% of the numbness in my arm
from carpal tunnel syndrome which Ive had for the past 20 years.
