President Mike Cropsey called the meeting to order at 8:06 pm at Wally’s Spot with 65 members present. He asked that all cell phones be turned off during the meeting, and mentioned that the previous meeting’s minutes were on the back –side of the agenda. Any corrections should be reported to any officer.
New Members: Welcome Mike Bell to the club. New Cars or Project Cars: Karen Forehand said she knows of someone who would like their ’69 Corvette inspected and will be referred to Dan Lardnois of the club. May Dinner Run: Dean Becker reported that 4 cars were present at Waverly Beach in Menasha, WI. Dean bought the first round of drinks and Mitch Hazaert bought the second round to go with the great food. A ride to Tanner’s Bar for an after dinner drink followed. Cars & Coffee: Mike announced that “Cars and Coffee” is held every Sunday morning from 8:30am – 10:30 am at La Java Coffee on Lineville Road in Suamico. This weekly event is open to any and all cars, trucks and motorcycles. Coffee and breakfast are available. Members are encouraged to pick up flyers at the head table to distribute, and “free” coffee cards can be obtained from Mike. Corvettes of the Bay 7th Annual Car Show: This show will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014, and featuring the live band “Rocker.” The club would appreciate anyone interested to come early, around 8:30 a.m., to set up and also to take down at the end of the show. This event is a great membership drive as last year eight new members signed up after the show. The proceeds from this event will be contributed to the Green Bay Disabled American Veterans’ Transportation Fund. Don’t miss it! Save the Date Veteran’s Ride: This event, to be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, is honoring the Korean War Veterans. For 2015, the color of green is gone and orange is back. He also gave a summary of the features of the new Z06. Karen Forehand summarized an event she and husband Gary attended on May 16th to meet up with the nationwide C3-R run (C3 Registry) when they gathered in Door County with 23 cars participating from around the United States. It was a very well organized run and they met very nice people from all around the United States and Canada. A visit to a local winery and a fish boil were also well received.
Pete Beane suggested that the club should organize a “Trip Around Door County” (similar to the FondeVettes’ Trip Around Lake Winnebago). Wendy Cropsey asked for a round of applause for Gerard Rajek for his great job and dedication in keeping our website up-to-date. This task takes hours of time and the club greatly appreciates his fantastic job! Harry Lieberman announced that the best car show ever is the 41st Annual “Back to the 50’s” show in Minneapolis which usually hosts between 10,000 and 12,000 ’64 and older cars present.
