Apuntes Gramaticales: Los verbos reflexivos

Reflexive Verbs

Reflexive Verbs: A verb is reflexive when the subject and the object are the same.

Take a minute to write a brief definition of these terms in your own words. Use these two sentences as your guide:

I washed the apple. What is the SUBJECT of the sentence? What is the OBJECT of the sentence?

I washed my hands. What is the SUBJECT of the sentence? What is the OBJECT of the sentence?

Page 4: A2U2L2 Intro Keynote

NOTE: A SUBJECT DOES the ACTION. NOTE: The OBJECT of a sentence RECEIVES the ACTION.

Reflexive verbs have the same subject and object.

A note about the infinitive: Reflexive verb infinitives have an added ending of –SE. The –SE serves as a reminder that the verb is reflexive.
