Trudy Bellinger is a British music video director. She is currently affiliated with Merge at

Crossroads Films. In addition to music videos, Trudy Bellinger has

also directed TV adverts for Rimmel and Marks and Spencer's fashion for Spring and

Autumn.

Trudy's directing strengths lie in the restricted colour palettes, flattering lighting and tight choreography of her videos for artists like

Girls Aloud, Pixie Lott and Sophie Ellis Bextor.

Trudy is also the Executive Producer of Merge UK, the Music video arm of

Crossroads Films.

She continues to work as a creative consultant and music video commissioner

on selected projects.

Trudy doesn’t tend to use very much ‘live’ performance in the creation of her music

videos, but instead simply uses choreographed videos.

She carefully maintains good lighting and a uses a set location which she has chosen to

ensure a visually pleasing music video.

I think one of the unique styles which makes Trudy Bellinger's music videos is the contrasting eye catching colour palette which she uses.

I also think another style which makes Trudy Bellinger’s work so interesting and visually appealing is the way she uses many pastel colours. I do however feel that, whilst normally pastel colours blend in, Bellinger uses them to create a stark and ‘out there’ view.

My favourite thing about her videos though is the way the colours match, whether the models lipstick and background match, or as in the above screen the clothes and text are the same colours.
