SOUTH HOBART BUSHCARE The South Hobart Bushcare Group will NOT be having a Working Bee this month due to the Easter public holiday, 20th April. THE TRAM THAT TRIED TO GO TO CHURCH In 1922 a tram was passing All Saints’ Anglican Church when the Sunday evening service was just starting. Dramatically, it left the rails ‘and dashed towards the entrance’, as a Mercury reporter described it, amused at the thought of a tram trying to go to church. Fortunately, it was going slowly, no one was hurt, and it was soon put back on the rails to continue its legitimate journey.
