Today’s objectives
• In this presentation we are going to learn about the order of adjectives and nouns through the singing of a Christmas Carol and also some new vocabulary related to the twelve days of Christmas’ Carol
• Lesson duration: 90 minutes aprox
Warming up
• Activity: Class discussion
• Level: Elementary school/ beginners
• Objective: let the students know the theme of the class and give them the opportunity to speak freely answering simple questions about Christmas Carols
• Time: 5 minutes

• Objective: learn new vocabulary related to the song

• Activity: Listen and complete

• Objective: Let the student identify the new words used in the previous exercised that appear in the song
• Aids: recording of “The twelve days of Christmas song”
• Time: 20 minutes

What kind of words were missing?
- Words that represent objects: Words that represent objects are also know as Nouns
- Words that represent qualities or characteristic of the object: the words that represent characteristics of objects like color, size, etc… are call Adjectives and goes before the noun
Example
• Rudolf’s red nose
• Here red is a characteristic of the nose so is an adjective and goes before the noun
• Nose is a noun because a nose is an object

• Activity: Worksheet adjective placement
• Level: Elementary school/ beginners
• Objective: Practice the correct order of adjective-noun sentences
• Aids: Worksheet adjective placement
• Time 15 minutes
Post Activity Nº1
• Activity: Retune the song
• Level: Elementary/beginners
• Objective: write a new version of the song using a combination of adjective + noun
• Time: 20 minutes
Re tune the song
• Rewrite this Christmas Carol using the main phrase “my teacher sent to me”
• Example:
“On the first day of Christmas my teacher sent to me…. One good mark”
Post Activity
• Activity: share and sing
• Level: Elementary /beginners
• Objective: practice pronunciation and receive feedback from the teacher
• Aids: The twelve days of Christmas recording
• Time: 10 minutes
Post Activity
• Show your new version of the song to the class and let every group sing a part of their, creating a new group song.
