Korean History Through Korean Drama and Movies: Part I
~A journey through Korean history from the Three Kingdoms era beginning in the1st century BC to the present age~
Starting with 'Yon-sama' and Winter Sonata, Japan has experienced a Korean dramaand style boom. Now you can see Korean dramas of various genres on TV and cable.Like Japan, Korea has a long history and ancient traditions. This mini-seminarexplores Korean history through discussing drama and movies with historicalthemes. From the classic historical dramas to fusion drama based on historicalevents, this two-part mini-seminar will showcase highly recommended movies andseries following the historical timeline as well as the tourist spots and actors theyfeature.
