VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Wow! Can you believe VBS is only 68 days away as of this writing! We are going to embark on a mountaintop adventure as we explore “ EVEREST” where we will learn to “Conquer Challenges with God’s Almighty Power”! The week has been set for June 29July 2nd from 9:00 am until Noon for those 4 years old through 5th grade. SOOOOO, make sure you mark your calendar and plan to attend! We’ll learn about how God’s power can get us through so many different situations, especially when we place our faith and trust in Him. What a wonderful lesson to teach our children! In order for this to be a huge success, we need you! As your “ Exploration Guide”, I’m excited to tell you, all our “Site Instructors” (teachers) are in place. I am still in need of “Crew Leaders” to help take the kids from site to site. Remember the sooner you com- mit, the more you are assured the group you would like to work with. Youth, this means you too! If you have missed the last couple of years, you’ve missed a great time! Sign up to be a VBS “ Crew Leader” now! You won’t want to miss a single day! If you are working in VBS, leader t-shirts are available for $8 each $10 for larger sizes. See Miss Pat to purchase one. Be on the lookout for posters with post it notes on them naming food items. This is a great way for you to help out with VBS needs. Take the post-it note, purchase the item listed on it and return it in a bag labeled VBS. As always, monetary gifts are always appreciated to help offset the cost of this awe- some week for our kids! See Miss Pat to make a donation. Key, kids, start saving that change, especially pennies! We’ll have our annual penny war and all funds will go to purchase toys for our Appalachian Toy Drive. Who will take the lead this year, boys or girls? Can’t wait to see! The Triumph A Place of Hope! Friday, May 2 from 6-8 pm. We’ll be playing soccer, volley-ball, corn hole, and any other outdoor games you’d like to bring, along with enjoying the playground and pavil-ion. Food will not be provided, but feel free to bring a picnic dinner for your own family if you wish. We plan to schedule these fun nights throughout the summer so that we can join together in fellowship as families and enjoy time on the open field! Make plans to come out and join us. I’m confi-dent that God will bless you as you fellowship and connect in more meaningful ways with the body of Christ.

See You Sunday,

Pastor Kevin

Join Us for the First-Ever “Open Field Night!”

In studying the book of Acts for our Sunday morn-ing “A.D.” series, I’ve been reminded of how important fel-lowship was to the early church. In a snapshot of this early band of Christ-followers, they are described as “devoted to fellowship” (Acts 2:42), as a team that was “together" (v.44) with “everything in common" (v.44). That first century church clearly understood that their strength as the body of Christ was in their union; that they were better together than they were apart. Their need to be united was espe-cially important because of how hostile their culture was to the gospel they carried. As Christianity in America increasingly continues to be mocked and ridiculed by our secular world, it’s more im-portant than ever for us to be strengthened in our faith by intentionally connecting with each other in fellowship. With this in mind, I’m excited to highlight a brand new opportu-nity for fellowship – “Open Field Night!” This new opportu-nity to connect with others will happen for the first time on

may 10th

A prayer for Mom A young boy had been misbehaving, so his mother sent him to his room. Sometime later, he came out and told his mom he’d prayed about the matter. “That’s good,” she replied. “If you ask God for help to not misbehave, he’ll help you.”

“Oh, I didn’t pray for help behaving,” said the boy. “I prayed for God to help you put up with me.”
