BBUB System structure

BP (Base Band Processing Board)

The BP board processes the physical layer protocol and frame

processing protocol specified by the 3GPP, including:

Downlink service data coding/multiplexing, rate matching, channel

mapping, frequency spread and scrambling, power weighting and

channel synthesis

Uplink signal RAKE receiving and channel decoding

Radio link synchronization and transmission frame processing

Measuring parameters required in power control and handover

Softer handover and transceiving diversity.

Communicating with the CCI via the Ethernet interface

Providing IQ uplink/downlink

Reading all the hardware management identifiers, including the backplane type

number, slot number, board function type, board version, board function configu

ration identifier, and the CPU serial number

One BBUB supports at most 4 BP boards. These 4 BP boards can serve as a b

aseband pool, which realizes base band resource sharing.

ETTB( E1/T1 Interface Board) ETTB provides the following functions:

Lighting protection and spectrum filter function, and active/standby switchover CCI boards

Each ETTB board supports 4 E1/T1. BBUB can support 8 E1 at most while 2 ETTB boards configured

To support 2 E3/T3 interfaces, the ETTB board is replaced by E3/T3 interface board

FNB (FE Interface, Input/Output node point interface, RS232/RS485 Interface Board)

FNB provides the following functions: Provide 2 FE interfaces and protection circuit for these interfaces Provide 6 Node Point (input/output) interfaces and protection circuit for

these interfaces Provide 1 RS232, 1 RS485 (full duplex/semi duplex compatible) interfaces

and protection circuit for these interfaces Configure these interfaces according to requirement.

FAN( Fan Module)

BBUB has 6 fans. The FCB (Fan Control Board) inside the r

ack controls the fans in two groups to realize rotate speed d

etection and control.

FAN shelf supports hot-plugging. Air filter can be configured

at the right side of FAN shelf.

BPWA (Power Module)

Power conversion, filter and lighting protection functions.

Supports -48V DC power inputs.

ZXWR BBUB support 512CE ,12CS per shelf, 3U height --- the largest

capacity with smallest dimension BBU in the industry.

ZXWR BBUB has small dimension, light weight, low power consumption.

ZXWR BBUB supports high performance HSPA, evolve to MBMS、 HS

PA+ with software upgrade only.

ZXWR BBUB provides E1/T1, E3/T3, STM-1 and FE, etc. interfaces, an

d supports Fractional E1, CES, Microwave, etc. transmission solution.

ZXWR BBUB supports ATM/IP dual-protocol stack. Hybrid transmission

is supported on Iub interface. Smoothly evolve from ATM UTRAN to IP

RTR (RRU Transceiver)

The RTR has following functions:

Process received signal and transmit signal;

Radio signal uplink convert and downlink convert;

Downlink IQ signal multiplexing, uplink signal de-multiplexing;

Signal amplifying, filter, A/D convert, D/A convert;

Convert between optical signal and electric signal, optical wave

multiplexing;

Capture reference signal from base band unit and provide the

reference clock signal to other units;

• Hardware failure self-detection;

• Alarm report;

• Environment temperature monitor;

• Provide communication interface: 2 CPRI interfaces, 2 external alarm input nodes, 2 external alarm port output nodes, 1 RS485 serial port for external monitor equipment communication, 1 fast Ethernet port and 1 RS232 serial port for LMT, 1 AISG for electrical tilt antenna, 1 co-cabinet port for realization of co-cabinet;

• Combined and isolate transmitted and received signal;

The RPWAC/DC has following function:

RPWAC is the power unit for AC and RPWDC is the power unit for

DC;

AC to DC or AC to AC convert function;

Alarm report to RTR for low-voltage, over-voltage, over-current

etc.

ZXWR BBUB can be deployed in 2G transmission rack, extra space in 2G BTS or directly hung on the wall, which effectively solve the problem that the 2G equipment room space is not enough or the floor can not bear the weight.

ZXWR BBUB+R8840 Indoor Coverage Scene

ZXWR BBUB, together with ZTE series RRU, can satisfy

different coverage requirements:

In scene 1, 3G and 2G outdoor macro base stations are deployed co-siting deployed. 2G macro sites have spare space for 3G devices. Operators would like to utilize these free spaces.

RRU needs for auxiliary power supply, using multifunctional cabinet to provide -48VDC, and storage battery in the cabinet as auxiliary power supply ; Need for auxiliary power supply: through UPS, 220VAC can be provided. Also UPS can provide about 30 min power storage; No need for auxiliary power supply.
