It is situated in the center of Midtown, directly across the street from Vanderbilt University’s beautiful campus and about a half mile from the heart of downtown and all the action.

Gino and Jeanne Marchetti, our meeting hosts, Tim Agajanian, our Annual Meeting Committee Chair, and his Committee, along with Peggy Schultz, our Executive Director, have insured an excited, fun-filled week with plenty of exciting events for all attendees. Optional events will include a Golf Tournament at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, a tour of the Ryman Auditorium, a visit to the Belle Meade Plantation, The Hermitage Tour (Andrew Jackson’s home), a tour of the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum, as well as the Redneck Comedy Bus tour. Presentations will include topics such as Judicial Independence, Advanced Trial Tactics, an Appellate Argument Panel with Judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and an Alcohol and Spirits Practice presentation, among other presentations. Hubert Crouch, a Nashville litigator and author, and Sarah Trahern, President of the Country Music Association, will be our Saturday morning speakers for you and your family to enjoy.

Yes, the ADTA’s famous Hospitality Suite will be rocking! Do not be surprised if aspiring Country Music artists from neighboring honkytonks happen to appear and join with us in building relationships with our members.

Be sure to pack your hat, jeans and boots! We are having a party in Nashville - the Music City! Y’all come! We look forward to seeing you.

SATURDAY SPEAKERS

Saturday Speaker Herbert A. Herbert Crouch graduated from Southern Methodist University School of Law (SMU) in 1976. He earned Order of the Coif honors (top 10%), was elected President of the honorary Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity and served as an editor of the Journal of Air Law & Commerce.

Book review • ann PaTcheTTCommonwealth

Thursday, April 20, 9:30 am - 11:00 am“Commonwealth,” Ann Patchett’s exquisite new novel, opens

with one man handing a bottle of gin to another. Its contents will dissolve an entire family.

The fellow bearing this bottle, Bert Cousins, is a deputy district attorney who has crashed a christening party in Torrance, Calif., to escape his own squalling brood (three little ones, a fourth on the way). He’s self-important, entitled — a man whose fate has been overdetermined by his stupefying good looks. Alcohol is an obviously indecent gift for him to bring on such a sacred occasion, but he offers it to the baby’s father, Fix, without a dram

of embarrassment. Nor is it the only act of indecency he’ll commit: By party’s end, Bert has kissed Beverly, Fix’s wife.

Join Jeanne Marchetti as she leads this Book Review on Thursday morning.

The Parthenon also serves as Nashville’s art museum.Originally built for Tennessee’s 1897 Centennial Exposition, this replica of the Parthenon in Athens, Greece serves as a monument to what is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture. The plaster replicas of the Parthenon Marbles found in the Naos are direct casts of the original sculptures, which adorned the pediments of the Athenian Parthenon dating back to 438 B.C. The originals of these powerful fragments are housed in the British Museum in London.
