67th Independence Day

On the occasion of 67th

Independence Day, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof.K.Lal Kishore unfurled the National

Flag in front of university administrative building. Vice-Chancellor was invited by NCC Cadets at the university

and offered tributes to the National Leaders before flag hoisting. In his Independence Day speech, he stressed

the need for the involvement of universities in the development of the nation. In this process, he urged for the

new inventions and its fruits to reach to the common people. He also emphasized that cent percent

development of the nation is possible only with the complete eradication of corruption from the country. He

had also reminded that technological universities must play a crucial role in the development of nation. He

mentioned that JNTUA College of Engineering at Kalikiri in Chittoor district would start functioning from this

academic year with an intake of 300 students. Rector, Registrar, Directors of the university, Principals, Staff and

Students attended the event.

The Principals, Staff and Students of CEA & CEP and Director, Staff & students of OTRI celebrated the 67th

Independence Day at their respective Institutions.

Inauguration of MSIT Laboratory

MSIT Laboratory at JNTUA Learning center is inaugur ated by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. K.Lal Kishore on 19-07-2013.

Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) is a 2 year Postgraduate program offered by a consortium

of universities in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, USA. With the support of State government of

Andhra Pradesh, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA) is offering the MSIT

Programme in its learning center with the state of the art infrastructure, similar content, and CMU trained

Principal, Associate and Assistant Mentors.

MSIT follows a unique and successful teaching methodology called ‘Learning by doing’ with a Project centered

Curriculum focusing on projects that are inspired from corporate scenarios. The program aims at giving hands on

experience to the students, helping them gain an insight into practical nuances of the concepts taught. Each course

is offered as a project which in turn is divided into time-bound, manageable tasks. Students are evaluated based

on the quality of the deliverables submitted.

Soft skills training in MSIT programme has been developed to address the growing need of the employers for

people who are not just technically qualified but who also have superb people skills. The programme has

witnessed a successful 100% placement track record in the past decade.

Vijaya Kumar Redddy, Professor of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUH College of Engineering, Hyderabad & Dr. M. � Prof. P. Chenna Reddy has got AICTE sanction of Rs4,05,000/- for his Research Project titled “Using Bio-Inspired approach for Routing for Adhoc-Networks.”

� The existing BRNS project, Base line Survey on Air, Water, Soil Quality, Radio activity and Aquatic Biota in and around the project site of New Uranium Mining site, Tummalapalle, Andhrapradesh sanctioned to Prof S.V. Satyanarayana & Prof G.V. Subba Reddy is extended upto December 2013 by sanctioning an additional amount of Rs 2,59,200/ (total amount Rs59,41, 000).

� All the six UG programs offered by JNTUACEA have been accredited by NBA for a period of two years from 5th August 2013.

Autonomous Status to JNTUACEP

JNTUA has granted AUTONOMOUS status to JNTUA College of Engineering, PULIVENDULA from the academic year 2013-14.

BoS Meeting at JNTUACEP The First BOS meeting of JNTUA CEP was held on 14.09.2013 and 15.09.2013 in the CSE Seminar hall of the college under the chairmanship of Prof. M.L.S.Deva Kumar, Principal. Several points were discussed for implementation. Academicians from reputed institutions, Industry representatives, Alumni were participated in designing the course structure and developing content of syllabi for the academic year 2013-14 Prof. K. Hema Chandra Reddy, Registrar, JNT University, Anantapur, and Prof. M.Ramasubba Reddy (IIT Chennai) addressed the BOS Members and requested their co-oSperation to design and develop course structure and syllabi.

Annual Alumni Meet at JNTUACEA

It is customary for the JNTUA College of Engineering Anantapur to organize an Annual Alumni Day on Second Saturday of July every year. This year also an Annual Alumni meet was conducted by JNTUACEA in EEE Department Seminar Hall on 13.07.2013 i.e. second Saturday of July. The function was graced by the presence of Prof.M.Vijay Kumar, Director of Alumni Matters and Foreign Affairs and is presided over by Prof.K.S.R.Anjaneyelu the principal of the college. On this occasion, a few merit scholarships were distributed to the meritorious students of Civil Engineering Department, sponsored by Dr. A. Sreepadha Rao, retired professor of Civil Engineering and few merit scholarships were also distributed for the students of EEE Department sponsored by Mr. G.Peddi Reddy in remembrance of Late.A.Srilatha who was an Alumni of this college belonging to 1990-94 batch.
