Welcome!
Redmond’s new 280,000 sq ft high school is under construction with a planned
opening date of September 2012. The 1400-student high school was funded from
the May 2008 bond proceeds with a budget of $80 million. As of November 2010,
the project is currently at 45% completion.
The high school is located on a 55-acre parcel at the intersection of Canal and
Elkhorn. The school is designed around a small learning community environment
which allows teachers to work directly with teams of students for extended periods
of time.
Students will have access to career technical programs including culinary arts,
television/media production, pre-engineering, dental, medial and advanced
science. The school includes a 600-seat auditorium, orchestra pit and auxiliary
services, and two gyms.
Processes yet to come include adjusting school attendance boundaries, selecting a
planning principal, staffing, selecting a school name, mascot, colors and
determining what grade levels will open the building in September 2012.
The district extends its appreciation to those whose commitment and passion
made the construction of the new high school a reality for students.
