60 Years in Oil and Gas business- Oil India Celebrates Foundation Day with 1 st Percy Evans Memorial Lecture OIL , Duliajan: 18th February, 2019 As part of the completion of its 60th year on 18 th February 2019, OIL organised the First Percy Evans (A doyen of the Indian Petroleum Industry) Memorial Lecture at its field headquarters in Duliajan, Assam which was attended by a large group of Industry professionals and members of the academia. The Memorial Lecture was delivered by Mr Nayan Mani Borah, former CMD & former Hon’ble Member (Technical), Petroleum and Natural Gas, Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, GoI and one of the country’s most brilliant geoscientist and an outstanding orator. He highlighted on the enormous spread of challenges and opportunities in the upstream hydrocarbon space and spoke on the role of the industry specialists in geoscientific community, policy makers and the academia while joining hands to add to hydrocarbon resource base and exploit the same for sustainable development of mankind. Mr. Firoze Dotiwala, Executive Director (Basin Manager), Assam and Assam- Arakan Basin, ONGCL Jorhat also delivered an informative talk on the hydrocarbon Potential of the challenging Assam-Arakan Fold Belt. Dr. P. Chandrasekaran, Director (Exploration & Development) gave a new perspective to the audience through his enlightening talk on “Assam Shelf-Driving Indian Super-basin Renaissance”. Mr. Rabin Bar, a renowned Indian speed painting artist was invited for the event. Mr. Bar made the image of Mr. Percy Evans through his extra ordinary painting skills. The members of the board of Directors, RCE and guest of honour Mr. N M Borah made their signatures on the painting to commemorate the occasion.
