N E W S L E T T E R Friday 30 th September 2016 N E W S Our school provides a milk scheme that is available to all pupils at a subsidised price of 22p per day. Each child that registers with Cool Milk receives a 189ml portion of semi-skimmed milk every day, delivered fresh and chilled to the classroom. School milk provides essential nutrients and bridges the gap between breakfast and lunch to help children stay focused. For more information on how milk can benefit children or to sign up visit www.coolmilk.com Every year the school receives funding from the government which supports the children at West St Leonards in a number of ways. Pupil Premium funding goes towards teaching, resources, books, Forest School and much more! Your child may be entitled to Pupil Premium funding if you are in receipt of; • Income Support • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 • The Guarantee element of State Pension Credit • Child Tax Credit, provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) that does not exceed £16,190 • Working Tax Credit ‘run-on’ – the payment scheme may receive for a further four weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit. If you think you may be entitled to extra funding please speak to the office for further information and an application form. We are very excited to be embracing a new programme called Thrive. This provides a wealth of positive practical strategies to use with children as an individual, a class or in a group. The results are included when we plan our social and emotional curriculum. We are very lucky to have Mrs Banks, Mrs Dixon, Miss Hitchman and as trained Thrive practitioners.
