About Vera Raposo

I have been an entrepreneur since the age of 20 (1995),from owning 5 retail stores to discovering the beauty ofthe internet in 2004. I sold/closed all 5 locations andmoved my biz completely online in 2007.

My life and biz was completely overhauled when mydaughter was diagnosed with cancer. After her 2 ½ yearbattle (you can read more about it here) I sold my onlinebiz.

I then spent a couple of years with God, thinking, praying and just being with Him and discovering who I am and what Ineed to do in this world.

YourCreativeBiz.com was launched October 2012 with the goal todiscover the life and business of my own dreams. I hope to inspire manywomen to do the same.

My motto in life is, “Life is good! Best wearing flip flops and living mylife for others.”

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certainof what we do not see.

Yet I know how important it is for a good foundation and a buying niche.

Here’s My Raw Life

This is real, this is my life, this is how I’m going to live it. I’m going to bevery direct with you here, watching my daughter fight to LIVE was myinspiration to make a difference in this world.

(You can watch the video about my moment with God here)

Imagine seeing someone you love fighting hard to be alive, tubes comingout of their HEART, blood hanging in the room, nurses shuffling in andout, surgeries and then tons of complications that are SO scary that allyou can do is PRAY.

Now make it your baby, your little baby girl that you held in your armsafter she took her first breath.

Your little girl that you raised, your precious girl.

That’s just a quick snapshot of what it was like, like I said in my firstpost, we have been through the FIRE.

We are on the other side, Praise God! But it was not easy.

None of us know how much time we have on this planet, I want to createsomething that will impact others. Right now I’m working with myfriend Al Lamons on his yearly events for Make A Wish.

I want to impact this world in the biggest way possible.

I will do this with affiliate marketing…

From Lynn …

Like Vera, I’ve had my hand in a number of offline and online businessmodels over the last 16+ years. From the beginning I integrated AffiliateMarketing into my business models (even offline), and it was the onething that really stood out to me. It required the least investment, and theleast work, for the highest return. Which is why I ultimately became afull-time affiliate.

This will provide me with the ability to work on these different missions, make a difference in the world while this affiliate biz supports my familyand the lifestyle that I want to live.

I also have one new creative biz that I want to launch that seems SO big itscares the bee-jeepers out of me. This is my first “mission” for God,something I have only shared with a few very close people in my life.

I want to get going with it but I’m scared and the only way I can see it allworking is if my biz here online is VERY streamlined and Hands Off.

I Started Brainstorming Some Ideas

Now to the fun stuff…

As I started into my thoughts and research this thought came up …

Not long after that comment I realized that I wanted to do somethingthat helped me develop a skill that I always avoided.

Cooking family meals.

I always go for the easy meals like soup & sandwiches.

I’m not a cook, I don’t bake, I really don’t care to cook at all. The onlytime I bake is at Christmas time and that’s usually just a few dozencookies for the kids.

Anyone who knows me personally will know that I usually keep boiledeggs in my fridge as I’ll usually grab one or two for dinner when I’m onmy own.

(Side Note: I’m divorced and share custody of my daughter, I do feedher well when she comes over, I always avoid it when I’m on my own).

It kinda makes me sad in a way that I don’t spend the time to make mealsfor myself. Often times I’ll be out late and come home and go to sleep.I know that it’s not healthy and I know that this has to change.

So I decided …. I will MASTER this skill of cooking good food for myself.Heck, Lynn has an affiliate blog (TravelingLowCarb.com) all on cookinglow carb and how she integrates it into her travel life since she’s alwayson the road, it also serves as her own weight loss journey.

Enter 30 Minute Meals

I started thinking to myself, I don’t want a weight loss blog, weight hasbeen an issue for me for some time although the cool thing is I lost abunch of weight and I’m feeling awesome.

I was thinking, I’m looking to make easy meals, 30 minute meal ideas orheck… even 15 minute meal ideas. But I don’t want to make recipes (I’mnot a cook lol!), I just want to discover how to eat well, easily inside myhome.

I started looking at 30 minute meals and thinking, I could do this! Maybeit’ll inspire me to cook more and I could document all that I’m learningand doing.

But I wanted easier than that.

My 4 Hour Experiment

I’m a huge fan of Tim Ferris and his book “The 4 Hour Work Week.” Iremembered Tim also has a book called “The 4 Hour Chef.”

As I was looking on his blog he also has something called, “The Slow CarbDiet.” He had a bunch of “before and after” shots and I as I looked up thelist of all the EASY food you prepare I was sold.

But I didn’t want this to be a weight loss blog.

However the food part was easy, you eat from the same list of foods 6days a week and then you get a free day where you can have anything youwant.

That sounds good to me!

I registered the domain and I said it, BINGO! I figured out what I want todo.

But here’s the thing, I don’t enjoy cooking, I don’t even really like it, noteven a little.

(I’m really hoping that will change for me one day soon)

But then I figured, “Hey! I’m a fan of the 4 Hour series by Tim Ferris.”I could create my entire blog on my 4 Hour Challenge in this life. I couldstart with the Slow Carb Diet and then go from there.

Of course there’s lots of affiliate opportunities there, surely it’s a goodidea? Lynn?

Back To This Morning …

“If you were given 10 hours a week and a bottomless bank account tostart a new hobby, with the condition that a television crew would followyou for those 10 hours every week, which hobby would you pick?”This changes things and in a HUGE way.

I’m *always* — almost daily speaking on my Facebook page on how topursue the life and biz of your dreams. That’s what I want for myself andthat’s what I hope others will do too.

I know what it’s like to have a business and then look around and think,“Wow, this is what I signed up for, complete work-a-holic overwhelm.”

I want the biz and life of my dreams, I deserve it and God requires it so Ican do MORE for others. Working from a laptop on the beach is notwhat I dream of, I dream of making a difference in this world.

Off To The Beach

I know when Lynn told me to dream BIG, this was my chance to do justthis. I walked the beach this morning and left my cell phone at home.No calls, no texting, no pictures and NO INTERNET.

Completely unplugged.

I just did it for a couple of hours, I could only imagine what it would belike for a few days.

I found a nice bench, the tide was out and the wind was strong. It was acooler morning here in Vancouver, BC.

Page 13: #3 Lifestyle & Biz By Design: She Says To Dream Bigger

I closed my eyes and felt the wind blow through my hair.

This has to be an adventure, I love adventures.

This has to bring excitement to my life, I need excitement.

This has to be crazy FUN.

This has to be something I would long to do every single day.

If I Had No Fear

If I had absolutely no fear I would do the following:

jump from a plane (aka skydive lol!)climb a mountainsit on an iceberg

fly a planedrive a semi truck

take a helicopter ridelive in a sailboat

do a zip line anywhere, any placetravel often

go whale watching

What I Would Do Every Single Day If I Could

I would go to the beach every single day if I could, I would love to traveland discover beaches. I would journal, spend time taking photos, watchthe sunrise and the sunset.

Page 14: #3 Lifestyle & Biz By Design: She Says To Dream Bigger

I love watching the start of a brand new day, it’s the closest to Heaventhat I could imagine.

I would buy a house on the beach, living and waking up to the oceansounds every morning would be amazing!

The beach is where I go whenever I have big decisions to make in my lifeor just need to re-charge.

Enjoying freedom and alone in my thoughts, this is what I would doevery single day if I could.

I live in one amazingly beautiful place, I would love to explore BC more. Ilove driving through the mountains, sitting at the top of the mountainsand watching the sunset.

There’s another topic that I would love to write on.

So there you go Lynn, you told me to dream big, not sure if this is bigenough for ya. I have ideas about jumping in a helicopter for the day orwaking up in a cabin in the woods.

My Question Back To Lynn

What do you think about these ideas? I still do like my “4 Hour LifestyleExperiment” idea. But I’m discovering how to dream bigger too.Back to you

PS. As I was loading pictures to this post I also remember that I LOVEtaking pictures of flowers, roses, etc.

PPS. Ok, more thoughts as I’m finishing up here, I do love working onMYSELF. I love “working” on myself, I’ve read through Purpose DrivenLife a few times, I did a 2 year course at church and I’ve been studyingthis woman before she comes to my church next year. She talks aboutchanging toxic thoughts and correcting them. I’m always looking toimprove my life.
