28 March 2019 National Ride2School Day Thank you to everyone who participated in National Ride2School Day. 82 students joined in the Bike Bus that travelled from Coles to school. It was great to have so many parents join the ride. Many more students and parents participated from other parts of Coolum. Thank you to parents/carers who supported the event in helping to develop a healthy school community, reduce traffic congestion and create less demand for parking spaces. Two students won Event Cinema passes, drawn on both parades. Thank you to Coolum Police, Coles, Woolworths and Clare from our P&C for their support in making our Ride2School Day a success. Year 6 Camp 2019 - Tallebudgera Beach School
News from 6N Year 6 have just returned from undertaking a “Hero’s Quest” at Tallebudgera Beach School on
the Gold Coast last week. Students took part in activities that were challenging but they faced
them head on and proved themselves to be champions. Below are some onomatopoeia poems
6N students wrote about some of the exciting activities they did. (Jo Nix)
Boogie boarding By Kynan Dellow
Swoosh! Zooming down the waves like
a cheetah charging At its prey.
Crash! Crashing into people left, right
and centre. Splat!
Falling of my board onto the sand.
Ahhhh! A gigantic tsunami towering
over me. Woo-Hoo
As I’m catching the biggest wave.
Ziplining Flynn Morris-Smith
Click-Clack I attach my clips to the line
Zip I zip along the zipline as fast as
lightning Buzz
The noise of the zipline buzzes in my ear
Ha I see the tiny tourists below as
small as ants Boom
My feet hit the platform like sharks tail hitting a seal
Kayaking By Zoe Ross
SPLOOSH Goes my oar in the water as it floats
away CACAR
The bird squawked in my ear annoying me
BOOM Goes my heart in my chest like a
sledgehammer RUSTLE
The bushes behind me somehow seemed to giggle
GIGGLE I giggled as we fell in the water
trying to catch my breath PUFF
I puffed at the end of the long walk. I was exhausted. “Finally!” I said to
myself.
