Note

It is recommended that you extract the file to the machine running theGraphical User Interface for the hypervisor on which CloudArray will be installedas this will minimize the VM import time.

5. Import the VM into your hypervisor.

Note

The VM is configured for two networks but only one is required. However it isstrongly recommended to have two interfaces connected. Use one interface forcloud traffic and the second for iSCSI/CIFS/NFS and management traffic.

6. Open Hyper-V Manager on the windows host where you plan to deploy theCloudArray VM.

7. Select Action > Import Virtual Machine.

8. Complete the following fields.

2. Click Sign in and enter the following credentials:

Username: admin

Password: password

Upon first login you are prompted to change the password.

Note

CloudArray attempts to find a DHCP server the first time it boots. If notsuccessful, you will see “Getting Started Web Page: http://No IP assigned.” Inthat case, refer to Configuring the network on page 26 to set an initial IPaddress. You can then use the Network Tools feature in the CloudArray GUI tofinish configuring the adapters.

3. Choose the desired operation from the CloudArray Appliance console display. The CloudArray Appliance console allows you to set the network configuration,

Verifying ViPR credentials and connectivityComplete the following steps to verify your ViPR credentials and connectivity usingS3 Browser.

Procedure

1. Open S3 Browser v4.8.7 (or higher) (http://s3browser.com).

2. From the Tools / Options / Connection Tab:

a. Select the appropriate HTTPS setting.

b. Do not use the Proxy settings.

3. Add a new Account or modify an existing one.

a. Verify the AccessKey and Shared Secret.

b. Set storage type to S3 Compatible Storage.

c. Enter the REST Endpoint IP Address with Port.

4. If there are no buckets in the bucket list page they may not have been createdyet. Create a bucket as follows:

a. Make sure there are no errors in the log details.

b. Create a bucket.

c. Upload a file to the bucket.

d. Delete the file and the bucket.

5. Run a test against the REST endpoints as follows:

a. Directly to the ViPR Data Service IP Address at port 9021 for HTTPS 9020for HTTP (your ports may vary)

b. Through the load balancer IP Address at the port that is configured toforward to ViPR

c. Through the load balancer Hostname at the port that is configured toforward to ViPR

6. Verify DNS.

a. Verify that a ViPR Data Service hostname has been created that resolves tothe IP Address of the ECS Node or of the load balancer. - 'my.host.name'

b. Verify that a WILDCARD entry '*' has been created for that hostname -'*.my.host.name'

7. Create a Base URL record.

a. Log into the ViPR Controller Admin UI.

b. Switch to Admin and select the appropriate Data Service from the drop-down menu.

c. Verify that a Base URL record using the hostname created earlier has beencreated.

d. Verify that ‘Use Namespace’ is NOT selected for the Base URL record.

If you are successful at this point, then CloudArray should be able toconnect.
