Is this your way of serving your country? Do you find the work personally fulfilling? Have you developed bonds with your coworkers and teammates that can on- ly be found among shipbuilders? By coming to work every day, we are fulfilling a greater pur- pose. Every time we set foot on our facility, we need to under- stand that lives and our na- tional security are at stake with every task we perform. Our work can be extremely challenging, but it can also be extremely rewarding. All 3,700 of us at Quonset Point play an integral role in ensuring we continue to build the greatest Nuclear Powered Subma- rines in the world – safely, under cost, and ahead of schedule. Now more than ever it is important that we take the utmost pride in what we do and work together as a team. The outlook for work here today and on the horizon will keep us busy and growing for the foreseeable future. Every minute of every day counts. Don’t save for tomorrow what can be done today. We will wish for these minutes when we are shipping our next module. To put it in perspective, we have al- ready shipped nine modules and are scheduled to ship an additional five from Quonset Point this year. Groton is also seeing an increased workload. There are current- ly four new con- struction boats on the Groton water- front, 788, 790, 792, and 793. SSN788 COLO- RADO will be delivered to the Navy any day now. Also, the Post Shakedown Availability of SSN786 ILLINOIS was completed and delivered back to the Navy two weeks ago. Delivering two boats to the Navy within a few weeks is a phenomenal accomplishment. Not to mention the Interim Dry-docking (IDD) of SSN765 MONTPELIER is still going strong. All of these events have significant Quonset Point in- volvement and the end result is what we all can take pride in. Always re- member how much is riding on our product. A key component in the effort to ensure the security of the Electric
Boat QP Facility is the proper display of employee identification
badges.
Recently there have been incidents where employee badges have
not been legible or properly displayed. All Team Members are
responsible for wearing their badge on the upper left side of their
body at all times while on the facility. This applies whether you are
walking or driving while on the facility. Badges must be worn to
comply with DSS, EB and NAVY requirements.
The picture, department number and badge number should be
visible and legible.
Supervisor buttons, service award pins, etc. should not be
placed on the badge; however you may affix them to the badge
clip.
Badges that are worn, faded or broken will be replaced free of
charge. Please send an email to “EB QP Badge Replacement”
– include the name, badge # and reason for a new badge.
Should you lose your badge a replacement can also be ordered
using the same method. Any team member who finds a badge
that is not theirs must immediately return it to Security. Em-
ployees are not allowed to possess another employee’s badge
or more than one of their own.
**EMPLOYEES MAY NEVER USE THEIR IDENTIFICATION
BADGE TO ALLOW ANY OTHER EMPLOYEE ENTRANCE
THROUGH FACILITY TURNSTILES**
TEMPORARY BADGES: All Team Members are reminded that temporary badges are issued only at Gate 1 for the Building 60 Complex and Gate 14 for the Waterfront Complex. Temporary badges are NOT programmed for use in any turn-
stile. When issued a temporary badge, the bearer must utilize that
badge for their entire shift and are restricted to Gate 1 and Gate 14 for ingress and egress.
Team Members are also reminded that they are required to
return the temporary badge to the Security Officer at the gate as they depart for the day.
The badge will expire after 13 hours and cannot be used by the
same team member on the next business day. Should you require a temporary badge for more than one day,
you must obtain a new one each day from either Gate 1 or Gate 14.
Identification badges are the property of Electric Boat Corpo-
ration and, as such much be surrendered upon severance from the company and/or upon demand from any management au-thority or security representative of the Corporation.
