2017 MUSEUM EXHIBIT As the final part of our semester long project, you are going to put together a museum exhibit comprised of the four tasks you have worked on during the semester. Each group will creatively and clearly display their museum project tasks from the four units. All parts of each task must be included. You may improve or revise aspects of your task that you, your group, or your teacher believes needs to be improved. Your group will participate in a proposal to an international museum board to have your Canadian Exhibition included in the coming year to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. To be considered, your exhibition proposal must include: (1)Name of your exhibit (2)Artifacts – why is each piece critical to the exhibit? How does each piece illustrate the main themes of the course? (3)Rationale – why should the museum have a Canadian exhibition? Each member of your group should provide an argument. (4)Marketing Plan – 4 “P” •Product (why will people want to come and see these artefacts?) •Poster (how will you draw passersby into the museum? Symbolism, visuals) •Place (why this museum? City? Country?) •Promotion (how will you attract people into the museum exhibit?) IN 2017, CANADA WILL CELEBRATE ITS 150TH BIRTHDAY OR SESQUICENTENNIAL. FOR THIS OCCASION, YOU (AND YOUR GROUP) HAVE BEEN CHOSEN TO PREPARE A MUSEUM EXHIBIT WHICH SHOWCASES LIFE IN CANADA IN THE 20TH CENTURY.
