Apadmi Ventures CEO, Howard Simms, talking at Discover Your Digital Future event (June 2017) helping to get 14-15 year olds excited about a future career in technologyThe Apadmi Group creates innovative mobile application
and technology solutions to help businesses of all sizes solve the problems of today and capitalise on the
opportunities of tomorrow. Through Apadmi Ventures it invests time and money into exciting start-ups, and is continuously innovating in Apadmi Labs.
Mobile technology has been engrained in our lives since 1998, when our four
founders worked together on the very first smartphone. The first mobile apps
followed, including early solutions for Shazam, SkyScanner, Disney and Audible.
Apadmi was set-up a few years later, in 2009. Initially building on our experience,
we launched as a pure-play mobile app development company. But we quickly
realised that there was more to ‘mobile’ than apps, and that the modern
smartphone was transforming everyday lives of consumers, employees and business.
Now, in 2017, Apadmi works with businesses of all sizes and across all industries.
We’re still mobile at our core, and still build award-winning apps, but we’ve
evolved into a group of companies capable of delivering transformative technology
solutions for some of the UK’s most complex organisations. As their long-term
partners, we advise, plan, develop and continually optimise their mobile projects.

TECHNOLOGY EDITION
Jobs and lives will change. The
question is, how do we help ensure
that the UK is front and centre for
technical innovation in terms of skills
and education, financing for tech
solutions, and availability of resources
to implement all of these changes?
We believe that technology
skills should be central to school
curriculums, ensuring young people
are exposed to these careers earlier.
Ensuring the UK’s youth has the skills
to grow the digital and technology
sectors of tomorrow should be a
major priority. The next Google,
Facebook or Amazon shoud be
originating from the UK. Wherever
possible, we take the chance to
speak and inspire tomorrow’s
business leaders.
Technology businesses in the UK need
to be reassured that the opportunities
are still here, or they will go looking
elsewhere.
New technology continues to
transform how businesses operate.
In the public sector, the NHS has
committed to improving how it uses
technology, and Apadmi has partnered
with the organisation to deliver life-
saving mobile technology solutions.
A Digital Transformation Case Study: NHS Blood and Transplant
Time is critical in organ donation
and transplants, with medical teams
required to act quickly if life-saving
procedures are to take place.
Until recently, the documentation
process required to enable organ
donation was very cumbersome.
Specialist Nurses needed to complete
various forms, many of them paper-
based, before blood, tissue and organs
deteriorate and they are no longer
suitable for transplant.
Furthermore, the time taken to
complete this paperwork, was time
that the Specialist Nurses could be
spending caring for donors and
their families.
Working with the NHS, Apadmi
created Donorpath – a transformative
mobile solution that integrated
with the NHS’s existing systems and
workflows, enabling Specialist Nurses
to quickly capture over 600 pieces of
data (per patient) as soon as an organ
becomes available.
Now on ipads in over 260 hospitals
throughout the UK, Donorpath has
reduced the need for paperwork,
reduced human error, improved data
security through encryption – and most
vitally – given time back the people
who need it most.
In 2016, 3,932 organs were donated
and processed through Donorpath in
over 18,000 form submissions, saving
an estimated 766 valuable hours.
