Leer approached us and commissioned the design of the 2014 Chevy Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierrah truck caps to us.

I went to the Milwaukee Autoshow and took photos of both trucks and dissected the form to see what features needed to be pulled to incorporate in the design of the truck cap.

First portable mass spectrometer. Radom approached me with a concept for a portable spectrometer. We went to Chicago’s Pitcon to pick out components to assemble this concept.

In order to test for diseases hospitals need to take a blood sample and mix it with blood reagent. From those results they can determine what ailments you have.

These reagents are kept in refidgerators in labs and must be thawed out one to two hours before testing. The top right photo is a walk in freezer with the different types of reagents and the bottom left picture is how they are currently organized while thawing.

Johnson & Johnson needed a new cart to organize thawing reagents

Final Concept

We developed a system of columns to hold the reagents and dispense them from the bottom using gravity to replace a cartridge after one has been pulled. The cart comes with thirty six additional inserts so that more than one type of reagent can go into each column. The entire is top is powder coated in a high gloss finish so users can write with dry erase markers on each tab to identify which type of reagent they are pulling.

Laerdal brought us a prototype of a CPR training station that they had mocked up and needed us to redesign for production. The height of the platform with the adult manikin on it is the lowest position standard hospital beds go.

Our first challenge was to make sure that individuals in the lowest 5th percentile can perform proper CPR on the manikin. Using reams of paper we determined that the 5th percentile would not be able to preform proper CPR without a step up.

Our first Task in the redesign was making it appear much less bulky than the original prototype. Using rectangular tubes, we designed a frame that could handle the constant force from CPR but also reducing the over all bulkiness of the design.

Because the is a cart that is used for training CPR, we had to take extra care in making sure every piece of the product was ergonomically right for both the instructor and students.

Riva Wakeboarding PWC

Personal water crafts (PWCs) are often used in place of a wakeboarding boat, but these crafts are not meant for the sport. PWCs have the potential to pull wake boarders, but their light, narrow hull design is light narrow and not meant to create wake to be used for the sport. I see the potential for a PWC to be an inexpensive solution to those who can not afford a wakeboard boat, but still want to enjoy the sport recreationally.

The Riva is a permanent attachment to a PWC that is meant for wakeboarding.

CAD ModelingThis was a concept cart I came up with to practice new innovative ideas for future medical devices being integrated with smart technology.

Vioguard approached me and needed their new product incorporated in a concept medical cart. I rendered this concept for them to display in trade shows.
