“This award made me even more eager to serve as a mentor for others who are interested in service to their community through philanthropy. I am committed to making philanthropy a lifetime perspective as I embark on a future career in public relations”.

“Being honored by AFP as a part of National Philanthropy Day was such a surprise. To be recognized among such strong organizations and leaders was very moving. To be honest, it felt like we had finally made it to the big leagues! I cannot thank AFP enough for recognizing 24 Hours in the Canyon.”

“National Philanthropy Day is the one day of the year that professional fundraisers come together to honor outstanding contributions of time, talent and treasure in the Texas Panhandle. For me personally, to be honored and recognized by my peers to receive the Outstanding Fundraising Professional award was quite humbling. We are blessed with many outstanding, ethical, and hard-working fundraising professionals doing great work for many non-profits across the region.”

“I didn't fully appreciate the magnitude of the recognition until the banquet. When I saw those who had been recognized in previous years, I was overwhelmed. There is nothing more humbling than recognition for service to your community by someone not connected to your program. A true honor that has made me work even harder to make a difference."

“We were so excited about receiving recognition from the community when we received the National Philanthropy Day Award for Outstanding Business/Corporation! Our company will probably never be the largest donor of money to those in need in our community. This award is not only about the dollars, but it also recognizes our volunteerism and other areas of support. We don’t support these activities to receive recognition; rather we provide support because it is the right thing to do for our neighbors. However, to be recognized for what we do means a lot to me personally, but also to the employees, Board of Directors and shareholders of FirstBank Southwest.
