Introduction

LamiCORE is a feed balancer, designed and produced within the UK.

In early 2014 we ran a feeding trial on 8 different horses and ponies with various metabolic issues. Read on to discover what we found.

Trial Plan Overview

Across 3 months in early 2014

8 Horses/Ponies 7 – Laminitis

2 – Cushing’s

2 – EMS

Feedback via calls and emails

Blood tests when possible

Findings – Palatability

5 – did not like at beginning

3 – happy eating throughout

5 – happy to eat by end of first pack

For the majority the issue was the coconut – for final product coconut size was reduced.

Findings – Happiness/Enthusiasm

Findings – Other

4 – Improved hoof quality (Including frog)

2 – Improved Mobility

1 – Decreased thirst levels (relevant to 2)

4/4 – Improved blood results (2 C/2 L)

2 – Gained weight (filled out)

1 – Reduced crest

2 – Returned to competition (inc. 1 HOYs pony)
