Decorated wall to wall with Christmas trees, sleighs and beautiful lights, more than 3000 delegates packed into the Hall to witness the passing of the Congress flag from Leipzig to Kanazawa, as well as the passing of the Presidential Chain from 2014 JCI President Shine Bhaskaran to 2015 JCI President Elect Ismail Haznedar. World Public Speaking Champion and JCI 100 th Anniversary song competition winner Paul Akingbola of JCI Nigeria performed “It’s Time to Celebrate” live, followed by the popping of champagne and fireworks to official launch JCI’s yearlong celebration of impact. After an inspiring week, delegates returned home with new skills, innovative ideas to create impact in their communities and a renewed passion for positive change. CELEBRATE 100 Years of Impact. ISSUE 6: CELEBRATE The JCI 100 th Anniversary Committee takes the stage for the official launch of the 100 th Anniversary of the JCI Movement. Complete with champagne and party hats, the committee thanks delegates for their support this week and ignites the yearlong global celebration of impact. The 2014 JCI World Congress concludes with a gorgeous, holiday themed Farewell Ball. Delegates reflect on their experiences and rejoice in the spirit of freedom, passion and change that they will bring back home from Leipzig.

2014 JCI President Shine Bhaskaran says his final words of farewell thanking JCI members, leaders, partners and friends for all of their support throughout the year. Encouraging members to Unite to Impact, he welcomes 2015 JCI President Elect Ismail Haznedar to accept the Presidential Chain and start his yearlong journey to commit, connect and care for JCI.

After their first official JCI Board of Directors meeting, the incoming 2015 JCI Board of Directors unites with their incoming 2015 National Presidents to discuss initiatives, priorities and actions for 2015 and how to effectively work together for impact. They also review their expectations for one another and chat about best ways to collaborate for solutions to the challenges faced by their Areas.

Celebrating the culture of the host country of Germany, delegates enjoy traditional German food and beer at Bavarian Oktoberfest. With a live band in the background playing German party music, attendees seize the chance to play German beer hall games.

Joining the participants of the World Congress Kids program, Congress attendees collaborate with Felix Finkbeiner’s Plant-for-the-Planet initiative to ensure environmental sustainability by planting trees in the local host community.
