Complimentary Childminding Service! (3-5 years) Give your child a fun place to play while you participate in either of our adult programs. Note: This is a complimentary service for Adult Boot Camp and Adult Yoga Fitness only at Oak Park.

10K Running Clinic (16+ years) Take that next step, challenge yourself! Participants should be able to run a steady 3 K or run/walk 4 K at the start of the clinic. A full 10-week training schedule will be made available at the start of the session recommending 3 or 4 runs per week and slowly building up mileage to accomplish the goal race.

Half Marathon Running Clinic (16+ years) Go the distance and succeed! You will be provided with a training program to suit training base, fitness and race goals. Special interest seminars, access to clinic leaders via email and two group running days are all included! Goal races: Chilly Half Marathon March 3/13 and Scotia Bank Half Marathon Oct. 13/13.

Indoor/Outdoor Triathlon Clinic (16+ years) A NCCP trained coach will guide you through a weekly 90-minute workout with indoor training in all three sports: swimming/biking/running for the first part of the session. The run, bike, and eventually swim session will move outdoors as the weather warms up. You will be provided with a training program to suit your training base, fitness level, fitness goals and race goals. This clinic is aimed at the beginner and intermediate triathlete or the seasoned triathlete who likes group training. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants.

Parent and Child Mother Goose (Parents with infants up to 12 months)

Spend special time with your baby! Designed to encourage parents to cuddle up and enjoy one-on-one time with their little ones. This one-hour class focuses on the relationship and bond between parent and child through the pleasure and power of rhymes, songs and stories and is led by a trained instructor.

Group Triple P Fast Track to Effective Parenting!This program will teach you effective parenting strategies, how to promote your child’s development, how to manage common child behaviour problems and principles to help you deal with almost any situation that might arise. Group Triple P is geared to parents/caregivers with children 1-6 years. Delivered in partnership with Halton Region Public Health. No childminding.

TAG - Together as Girls (10-13 years)

Join Girl’s Night Out! This active, experiential leadership development program is designed specifically for young girls 10-13 and is focused on meeting new people, making new friends, and having fun! Girls will participate in group games & sports, team development activities, creative arts, and social media to explore topics that mean something to them.

Wellness Centre for TeensMandatory Teen Conditioning Course This course is mandatory for teen members’ ages 14 to 16 who wish to gain access to the Wellness & Fitness Centre and the indoor track. This pre-registered educational session includes safe weight-training and exercise techniques in addition to Wellness etiquette, nutrition and proper stretching. Upon successful completion of the program, the teen will receive a shoe tag which must be worn and visible when in the Wellness Centre or on the track. Teen Conditioning courses are offered every Saturday from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Register at the Membership Services Desk.

Modeled after a typical day camp program, children 6-12 years of age will participate in a wide range of activities including; recreational swimming, sports and games, arts and crafts, rock climbing, theme days and special guests. Sign up for the entire week or choose the days you want!

March Break Overnight Camp (11-14 years)

Join the overnight camp experience for youth, in partnership with YMCA Camp Pine Crest! Youth will participate in indoor and outdoor programming, sleep in winterized cabins and eat in a winterized dining hall. Activities include group games, low and high ropes, snowshoeing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, shelter building campfires and more. Transportation, meals and accommodation included in price.

March Break National Lifeguard Services (NLS) & Recertification (MUST be 16 years of age by the end of the course)

This course is a nationally recognized Lifeguarding program. The course emphasizes teamwork, leadership and communication in prevention of accidents and treatment of medical emergencies. Participants must hold Bronze Cross and a current Standard First Aid (Please make sure your pre-requisite does not expire before the end date of the course). Anything less than 80% attendance may affect completion of the course. Exam dated cannot be rescheduled, anyone who does not attend exam date must redo FULL course. Please provide a photocopy of ALL required certification cards upon registration.

YMCA Member Swim Lessons (3-16 years) Classes are 30 minutes a week for 12 weeks, with a one-week break between sessions. Upon initial registration, we will automatically register you again for the next swim level on the same day and time for the next session. Note: You must be a member to take Member Swim Lessons.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons Specialty classes for those who would like to benefit from one-on-one instruction. Lessons can be purchased in 4 or 8 week packages. Both names must be submitted upon registration. Participants need to schedule lesson time directly with their private swim lesson instructor. Youth Aquatics Mentorship Program (must have completed Master Swimmer)

This program provides the opportunity to assist in the delivery of our YMCA member swim lessons. Participants will have a pool orientation and training in preparation to assist YMCA swim instructors, as well as emergency training to be able to assist in pool area. This 2.5 hour program allows participants to build relationships with both instructors and swim participants by developing YMCA Core Values.

Youth Swim the Lake Team (must have completed Star 6)

Swimmers of all ages are guided and motivated to reach personal goals and achieve fitness results. A friendly swim competition will take place once a year at the Swim the Lake event.

Virtual Swim the LakeCalling all individuals, teams and families of all ages! Challenge yourself and your team to swim various distances and bodies of water all over the world with our online Virtual Swim the Lake. This program will

record distances swam and track the distance required to reach the next goal.

Part One: Emergency First Aid + CPR ‘B’This course course covers the general Knowledge of First Aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include victim assessment, rescue breathing, CPR, choking, and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack, and stroke.

Part Two: Standard First Aid + CPR ‘C’ This course is a continuation of Emergency First Aid + CPR “B” providing an in-depth understanding of First Aid including: legal implications of First Aid treatment, spinal injuries, heat or cold injuries, bone and joint injuries, abdominal and chest injuries, burns and medical emergencies.

Part Two: Standard First Aid + CPR ‘C’ Re-certificationProof of original SFA awards card MUST be shown to the examiner. Failure to provide this verification will prevent testing. SFA certificates from other agencies may not re-certify their certificate on a LSS re-cert course. SFA award holders may re-certify their LSS SFA by alternating re-certifications and original full courses.

AED Responder (Defibrillation)/AED Re-certification Automated External Defibrillation (AED) builds on the skills learned in CPR and First Aid courses. AED provides knowledge of how the heart works and what goes wrong when defibrillation is required. Learn how and when to operate an automated external defibrillator. Pre-requisites: CPR ‘A’ or higher certification.
