COMPETITION RULES• All participants must provide a copy of a valid birth

certificate for age verification at all levels of competition.

• Each youngster may participate in only one localcompetition. Competing in more than one local willresult in disqualification of that individual.

• No metal spikes are allowed during any portion ofthe competition.

• In the event of a tie for the All-Around Champion, theyoungster winning more individual events (Pitching,Hitting or Running), among those involved with the tie,will be named the All-Around Champion. If a tie stillexists, the youngster with the higher Hitting scoreamong those involved with the tie, will be named theAll-Around Champion. If a tie still exists, the Runningscores of those involved with the tie will be used todetermine the All-Around Champion. There is notiebreaker in the individual skill events.

• In the event of threatening weather conditions,cancellations and rescheduling will be determined bythe hosting organization at the competition site.

• Major League Baseball®, LEJ Sports Group and state coordinators and organizers of the PITCH, HIT & RUN™ competition reserve the right to make rulings and recommendations regarding the competition events determined to be in the best interest of the program. All rulings and recommendations are final.

• Participation in the PITCH, HIT & RUN™ competitionauthorizes Major League Baseball®, Pepsi-Cola Company®, and LEJ Sports Group to use participant's name, likeness and other personality rights for promotional use without compensation.

Refund PolicyGeneral StatementA full refund of registration and participation fees and charges will be made for all programs, activities, and events cancelled or adjusted by the Dyersville Parks & Recreation Department (DPRD). For all other situations where refunds may be requested, the following guidelines shall apply. The Director of Parks & Recreation, with the approval of the City Administrator, shall have the authority to make decisions on all requests not specifically covered herein. All refunds are subject to City Council approval. Athletic / Instructional / and Non-Athletic Programs1. If a participant requests a refund, in writing, 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first day of athletic league drafts/first practice or 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program, a full refund, minus a $10.00 processing fee will be issued.2. If a participant requests a refund, in writing, less than 10 calendar days prior to drafts/first practice for an athletic league, or less than 10 calendar days prior to the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program, no refund will be issued.3. A student wishing to transfer from one class date to another, within the same program and registration period, must do so in writing at least 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program. 4. If a written excuse from a licensed medical doctor is provided, indicating that the participant should not participate due to medical concerns or physical limitations, a partial refund will be issued after deducting expenses incurred by the City of Dyersville Parks & Recreation Department such as prepaid admission fees, tickets, deposits, and a $10.00 processing fee, for trips, and programs.

Trips1. Full refund for trips cancelled or adjusted by DPRD.2. If a refund is requested, in writing, prior to the registration deadline, a full refund minus a $10.00 processing fee will be made.3. If a refund is requested, in writing, after the registration deadline, and 48 hours prior to trip departure, a 50% refund will be issued if the participant can be replaced from the waiting list

Registration Deadline and Late Fee PolicyRegistration Deadlines are set to be certain that each individual program will have enough participants to ensure a successful implementation. Each program is separately taken into consideration to establish a registration deadline with regard to that specific programs first class meeting and/or the first practice/game.

Late FeesA late fee will be assessed to all registrations that are filed with City Hall or any of its subsidiaries or postmarked after the registration deadline on the following day after the published registration deadline. That fee will be set at $15.00. At no time shall the Director have the authority to change or deviate from this policy.

Registration InformationPlease register early as programs cannot be held without an adequate number of participants. Sports registrations can be done during the scheduled registration times or anytime after receiving this brochure. Take note that several programs have a registration deadline and a limited number of participants. To register for classes and events contained in this brochure, please contact City Hall. Forms can generally be picked up and dropped off at City Hall. Also, feel free to mail, fax or email your forms. Registrations are not guaranteed until payment is made. All participants under the age of 18 must have an adult complete the waiver form on the back of the registration sheet in order to participate. All checks must be made payable to the City of Dyersville. If you have any questions/concerns, please call City Hall at 875-7724.

AquATiC CenTeR OPeRATing POliCiesClosing Policy: Inclement Weather: In the event that weather conditions are adverse/cold, the pool may close within one hour of published opening if no patrons have arrived to use it. The pool will not open if it is lightning/raining at the published opening time. If weather conditions improve, the facility may open at 5:00 pm that day.Low Attendance: The pool will close if zero admissions have occurred for a one hour period and less than 20 patrons are in attendance. Respectively, all attending patrons will be provided a 60 minute notification of the early closing.

Unsupervised Children: Children under the age of 8 cannot enter the aquatic center without adequate supervision. Children acting in a repeated immature/misbehaving manner, will be asked to leave.

Admission Policy: All persons entering the Aquatic Center must pay regardless of their intent to swim.

Youth Tennis Fundamentals Camp

June 3rd – June 7th The Dyersville Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a youth tennis fundamentals camp for kids ages 8 and up from June 3rd – June 7th at the newly constructed tennis courts near the aquatic center. Stroke technique, rules of the game, hand-eye and footwork drills as well as strategy in singles and doubles are just some of what will all be covered. All skill levels are welcome.

Session I: Ages 8-11 9am – 10:30am Session II: Ages 12 and up 11am – 12:30pm Cost: $30 Resident and $40 Non-Resident Location: Tennis Courts (next to Aquatic Center) What to Bring: Racquets and balls will be provided. Campers are welcome to bring their own racquets. Minimum 10 per session Maximum 25 per session

AquATiC CenTeR OPeRATing POliCiesClosing Policy: Inclement Weather: In the event that weather conditions are adverse/cold, the pool may close within one hour of published opening if no patrons have arrived to use it. The pool will not open if it is lightning/raining at the published opening time. If weather conditions improve, the facility may open at 5:00 pm that day.Low Attendance: The pool will close if zero admissions have occurred for a one hour period and less than 20 patrons are in attendance. Respectively, all attending patrons will be provided a 60 minute notification of the early closing.

Unsupervised Children: Children under the age of 8 cannot enter the aquatic center without adequate supervision. Children acting in a repeated immature/misbehaving manner, will be asked to leave.

Admission Policy: All persons entering the Aquatic Center must pay regardless of their intent to swim.

Youth Tennis Fundamentals Camp

June 3rd – June 7th The Dyersville Parks and Recreation Department will be conducting a youth tennis fundamentals camp for kids ages 8 and up from June 3rd – June 7th at the newly constructed tennis courts near the aquatic center. Stroke technique, rules of the game, hand-eye and footwork drills as well as strategy in singles and doubles are just some of what will all be covered. All skill levels are welcome.

Refund PolicyGeneral StatementA full refund of registration and participation fees and charges will be made for all programs, activities, and events cancelled or adjusted by the Dyersville Parks & Recreation Department (DPRD). For all other situations where refunds may be requested, the following guidelines shall apply. The Director of Parks & Recreation, with the approval of the City Administrator, shall have the authority to make decisions on all requests not specifically covered herein. All refunds are subject to City Council approval. Athletic / Instructional / and Non-Athletic Programs1. If a participant requests a refund, in writing, 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first day of athletic league drafts/first practice or 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program, a full refund, minus a $10.00 processing fee will be issued.2. If a participant requests a refund, in writing, less than 10 calendar days prior to drafts/first practice for an athletic league, or less than 10 calendar days prior to the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program, no refund will be issued.3. A student wishing to transfer from one class date to another, within the same program and registration period, must do so in writing at least 10 calendar days or more in advance of the first meeting of a class or non-athletic / instructional program. 4. If a written excuse from a licensed medical doctor is provided, indicating that the participant should not participate due to medical concerns or physical limitations, a partial refund will be issued after deducting expenses incurred by the City of Dyersville Parks & Recreation Department such as prepaid admission fees, tickets, deposits, and a $10.00 processing fee, for trips, and programs.

Trips1. Full refund for trips cancelled or adjusted by DPRD.2. If a refund is requested, in writing, prior to the registration deadline, a full refund minus a $10.00 processing fee will be made.3. If a refund is requested, in writing, after the registration deadline, and 48 hours prior to trip departure, a 50% refund will be issued if the participant can be replaced from the waiting list

Registration Deadline and Late Fee PolicyRegistration Deadlines are set to be certain that each individual program will have enough participants to ensure a successful implementation. Each program is separately taken into consideration to establish a registration deadline with regard to that specific programs first class meeting and/or the first practice/game.

Late FeesA late fee will be assessed to all registrations that are filed with City Hall or any of its subsidiaries or postmarked after the registration deadline on the following day after the published registration deadline. That fee will be set at $15.00. At no time shall the Director have the authority to change or deviate from this policy.

Registration InformationPlease register early as programs cannot be held without an adequate number of participants. Sports registrations can be done during the scheduled registration times or anytime after receiving this brochure. Take note that several programs have a registration deadline and a limited number of participants. To register for classes and events contained in this brochure, please contact City Hall. Forms can generally be picked up and dropped off at City Hall. Also, feel free to mail, fax or email your forms. Registrations are not guaranteed until payment is made. All participants under the age of 18 must have an adult complete the waiver form on the back of the registration sheet in order to participate. All checks must be made payable to the City of Dyersville. If you have any questions/concerns, please call City Hall at 875-7724.

certificate for age verification at all levels of competition.

• Each youngster may participate in only one localcompetition. Competing in more than one local willresult in disqualification of that individual.
