The ups and downs of relationships...
Cold WindJaimey Perham 04/18/2012
Need to let our love sweep away the cold, cold chilly
wind
Flow through the broken city in the dark black night
Hope we can still be peaceful friends despite our
mighty, mighty sins
Sorry to leave you girl waiting all alone in the cold
August wind

Learning and understanding your place in the world...
Keen Understanding
Jaimey Perham 05/15/2012
Trying to learn the nature of things that enter myhead
Get back to my youth when emotions had meaning that
were said
Feels like I am walking on the moon drowning in a sea
of red
The days are getting shorter and the teacher is dead
Have a keen understanding of myself in this world
today
Lately I spend my hours crying and I try to find a
god to pray
Purge this evil from my body and my brain of decay
But my soul is experienced and my heart is warm as a
solar ray
Time to turn off the television people and let the
music speak

Unplug from the internet for a while and talk cheek
to cheek
Walk in the forest of trees and sit on a rock near a
creak
The human spirit together is very strong, but alone
very weak
Sometimes words have meaning and other times just
fill the time
Aint it funny how they sink in and seem important
when they rhyme?
Life really is an amazing adventure folks and to love
is no crime
My stories always seem to take shape and become their
own on a dime
To write is to write no matter what is told
A poets dream no matter how old
Listen to yourself and let the rest unfold
Dont hold back the pain, or fear the cold
So I look out my window and I see more rain
This time however I smile and feel no pain
I am not empty or numb either just a shade of the
same
Balance, happy, sad, good, bad, and no one to blame

Had a keen understanding today that came out of the
blue
And you know what as usual I could thank you
But maybe it was me this time that stirred the human
stew
It just feels nice to once again feel new

How women control the hearts of men...
Behind Closed Doors
Jaimey Perham 05/19/2012
Secrets the seduction queen keeps in her purse behindclosed doors
I wait for her move, but instead I am pinned to the
concrete floor
I dont even know her name yet she knows all my lore
and gore
The steam is hottest at black night when I could feel
her colossal roar
She plays games with my heart until my fragile mind
and soul breaks apart
All I do is give her my love every night, but I get
it back in an empty cart
One of these days this woman will get stung by a
sharp steel thorn dart
But until then I will try my best to step into the
hectic city for a restart

Her clandestine liar of fire stays secret for now in
the apartment of desire
What we all need in the building is something to getus much higher
But until the mystical drug store in the clouds
remains chained with liars
We all have to wait until the tropical storm puts out
the wires of fire

When someone you care about leaves you and is gone...
Reality Shift
Jaimey Perham 05/29/2012
Things just aint the same, since you took your magic
out of my life
I try to get on each day on my own, all alone in this
mansion of light
But the rooms are way too dark, and the flowers are
dead and not alive
You created a reality shift in my mind, where I just
cant happily live
Do you remember when we roamed the streets, in the
realm of other dimensions?
Played games when the sun went down, in the city of
tension
I burn incense at night waiting for you to return,
but there are no mentions
In the newspaper when the classified ads will close
and paid is the pension

So I just wave to the empty windows in the quiet
house where no one comes
I do miss your eyes of desire that penetrated my soul
with so much fun
That smile on your face still tears me up inside with
warmth and some
Emotions of the heart where only the two of us shared
when words went mum
All I want to know is if you are okay wherever your
spirit is and you are
You are harder to reach than me, and that is saying a
lot when God calls
Somewhere in my being I hope we will see each other
again no matter how far
Across the globe our physical bodies occupy the space
matter short and tall
You created a reality shift that strange day and
night in my head
I will never forget that time when I sleep alone in
my empty bed
I might meet someone else, a lady of class wearing a
dress of red
Until then I will dance alone, but deep down I know
love is not dead

The one who starts the ball rolling...
Silent Starter
Jaimey Perham 06/01/2012
When there is no creator, he arrives incognito
A flash in the night flying high, and sailing low
What once was absent, a cardboard box with a bow
Completing the puzzle, and leaves quick with the flow
They call him the silent starter because without him
no start
Before there was nothing, and now there is heart
Completing the circle so it does not crumble apart
The glue in the arm chair, changing the landscape to
art

Without him on the battlefield the soldier has no
smoke
Riding down the freeway the custom motorcycle has nospoke
A dove in the sky among ravens a carriage in London
in cloak
A knife in the kitchen, a summer cottage in the
country with city folk
From generation to generation the legend passed downthe book
A time machine in the making, on the ship the
captains hook
Challenged by enemies who wanted to turn the clock a
nook
But the silent starter kept pushing, a reliable
steady cook
Others will copy, and that is fine with the matrix in
the machine
The ending is not written, the story not seen
Learn from his actions, and make your own engine
steam
We all have to thank the silent starter who continuesto gleam

The last hours of a man's life...
Downtown Alley Blues
Jaimey Perham 06/01/2012
My woman leaves me for a rich man with a golden tooth
I walk down the alley past the rowdy ones drinking 100% proof
The downtown bar is overflowing with dresses and suits
Inside the patrons are dirty dancing under the mirror roof
I have the downtown alley blues and I am stuck in a telephone booth
I smell the roasted nuts and crispy pretzels in the city tonight
The film cinema is showing a romance picture and the line is tight
I find a muscle man and get in a bloody death fight
Just for looking at his girl with all my might
I have the downtown alley blues in the dark with no light
The church is empty and the priest is with his bible all alone
I wear a silver cross, and think about Christ as I enter his zone
The diner down the block is crowded with strangers not home
The waitress is pregnant, and the owner is crooked to the bone
I have the downtown alley blues on the narrow street I like to roam

14/27
I enter the small city cemetery and visit the grave of my first wife
She died in a car hit by a drunk driver in a truck who carried a knife
I place a white rose on the grass and dirt and remembered her life
Down the gravel path I see a child with his mother and a flag in sight
I have the downtown alley blues as the grandfather clock hits midnight
Pass the pimps & prostitutes I stop in the Mexican market corner store
I buy non-alcohol chocolate milk in a bottle and two loosies not more
The fat foreign cigar smoking man with the gang tattoo yawns with bore
I leave & see a skinny hairless black cat with green eyes on the floor
I have the downtown alley blues as I take in the landscape urban noir
Musical Percussion plastic bucket sounds echoes off building bricks
In the city square the neon lights are bright & hot summer air thick
I grab a slice of pepperoni pizza from the Italian who looks very sick
I watch a yellow taxi cab pull over for a business man drone prick
I have the downtown alley blues that make me shake, quiver and tick
Half-naked runway model runs out of hotel followed by strange man
High school kid buys bag of dope from drug dealer with the fake tan
Homeless people sleep on the concrete side walk next to empty pans
Hippies hang outside the theater waiting for the ageless jam band
I have the downtown alley blues & think I am only one across the land

I start to feel a pain in my heart and collapse to the ground
The ambulance arrives & the paramedic looks for the vein & it is found
The city hospital is crowded with angry patients in cheap cotton gowns
I am stretched out on the stiff gurney & prepped for the surgeon crown
I have the downtown alley blues & my screams are heard town to town
I die on the operating table and my soul leaves my dead body host
I finally become free from my prison of a mind and head to the coast
I sail next to the ships on the water with the different flag posts
I fire through the sky & head to the edge of the Universe that is most
I still have the downtown alley blues, but now I am a spirit ghost

A day dream...
Waves of Perception
Jaimey Perham 06/01/2012
Waves of perception stare back at me
I wait for an answer, but only get a key
I swim in the ocean with creatures of the sea
I walk in a forest and sit down near an oak tree
I look for love again, but only get a sore knee
I stay too long and have to pay a parking fee
I feel like a golf ball on a wooden tee
I write and write looking for a miracle that is free
Waves of perception continue to stare back at me

A teenager has an 'out of this world' encounter...
Blue BeamJaimey Perham 06/18/2012
I wait with the other zombies in a quiet sterile
waiting room
My parents sit across from me stricken with nervous
faces of doom
The bald head psychiatrist wearing a beard leads us
into his tomb
We sit on his sofa, and the doctors voice echoes
like a sonic boom
He wants to hear my story so I tell it with the pace
of a fire alarm
Its a crisp autumn night as I run to my house from
the Indiana farm
Have a quick dinner, go to my room, change, and
remove my lucky charm
I get into bed and drift off to space with happy
thoughts of non-harm

Forcefully awaken from deep sleep Im temporally
blind by a blue beam
My body floats from my bed and drifts outside throughthe wall seam
I hover in the air and enter the spaceship
reminiscent of a bad dream
I find myself paralyzed lying on a metal slab in a
room with a gleam
Two grey aliens with large heads and black eyes lookdown on me
I try to move, I want to escape, but whatever I do I
cant break free
I see silver devices & beams of light enter my body
from head to knee
I pass out as the mother ship flies through space
like ships at sea
Awake I find myself in an empty white room feeling
kind of sore
I get up from the metal slab and stumble to the small
open door
I move through the tunnels and end up in a vast
library of yore
Then the two aliens from operating table enter & give
me a space tour

Thanksgiving Grace 11-22-2012
Jaimey Perham11/22/2012
We should all be thankful on this Thanksgiving
Day that we all are able to be here together and
free at this table while bombs go off overseas.
Whatever your problem might be just know
someone out there is starving as you eat this
feast before you. Cherish whatever you have and
be grateful. Know tomorrow is another day, anew day for you to go out in the world and work
for that thing you might not have now, but where
in the future anything is possible to obtain those
goals when you are optimistic and patient in the
present. Accept change in your life, and let the
pass flow behind you. War trucks on, but peace
is stronger and always possible if you have love
in your heart. Have a good thanksgiving eachand every one of you and thank you god and
please protect all Americans and this great
country in these turbulent times. Until next year,
amen...

Silent Christmas Vision
Jaimey Perham 12/15/2012
Soft snow slopping on top of sloping roof tops
Stomachs twisted and turned in tiny knots
Trees heavy and holy and hoping on hills very hot
Lights bright and out of sight in the right night
Full moon in tune past the camera zoom sonic boom
Glowing stars a far outside the car past the bar in a jar we saw
Santa busy and dizzy in a tizzy after a midnight fizzy
Elves all a giggle in a pickle to prickle the sickle
Milk and cookies wait on a plate like bait on a slate
Presents a round pound all abound with no frowns all-round town
A silent Christmas vision on this night of no decision in the misty
mission

Subway Shoe ShinerBy Jaimey PerhamSaturday, August 11, 2012Rated "PG13" by the Author.
A subway shoe shine worker in New York City encounters his lost biological son at hisshoe shine stand...
Subway Shoe ShinerJaimey Perham 07/23/2012
In the end, everybody leaves.
The tired looking man with an aura of obscurity shined the black leather shoes of thebusinessman dipping a dirty rag in black wax rubbing the texture and repeating the process. The
man in the suit and tie handed the shiner a crisp twenty dollar bill and went on his way into thesea of busy commuters destined for some random nine to five job in a small cubicle.
Robert Montgomerys shop was in the subway terminal beneath Grand Central Station.Three large ripped stained leather chairs with a foot stand were contained in a square rectangle
resting on the edge cement wall. Inside ancient bottles of exquisite different shades of dark color
wax from around the world darted the crammed shop.
Bob was a man nearing the end of a long unforgiving career of shining shoes in the same
location for the same type of person for forty years. In reality it was also the end of life for Bob.Bob had terminal lung cancer from smoking three packs of cigarettes since his shop opened. The
anxiety and stress of the New York City overexcited his raw nerves that caused him to chain
smoke like a couple on their honeymoon stuck in their hotel room because of bad weather.
Bob lived alone in a Queens apartment 'where even ghosts dont travel.' Never married, a few
love interests here and there, but a real quiet solitary life of nonexistence he lived. For fun helistened to talk radio in his free time. He got to know the conservative personalities real well.
Apolitical he did not take sides. He just loved the barking dogs go at it night and day.
The day the extraordinary incident happened to Robert started off as any typical early
morning would down in the basement of the capitol island to the world. Robert got to workexactly on time to the second. You can rely on him as one would rely on their Swiss watch.
He had a couple of regular customers. Tony from the transportation center downtown,
John from the corporate bank, Billy from Wall Street all made their appearances. After he had asmall lull he decided to glace at the local New York paper. Wow, another one fell into the
subway track and got smothered by the orange line train down in Chinatown on the Grand street
platform. Must be another suicide he thought.

When he looked up from his paper he saw he had a customer. The man strangely looked
like a younger version of him.
Good morning sir, said Robert.
The man got comfortable in the stiff chair.
Morning, the customer said.
The two made small talk for a while. Then the stranger said something that caught Bobsattention.
Yeah, Im looking for my real father. I think he works in New York.
Robert over the last forty years has got to know many people in the city. A lot of menhave stopped for a shoe shine at his shop. He might know him!
Bob asked for some information. The customer was twenty years old. His father wasaround sixty years old. He thought he lived in Queens, New York. He was a chain smoker. He
also owned a shoe shining shop and his name was Robert.
Bob stopped breathing for a few seconds.
When Robert was forty years old he met a woman from Connecticut. She caught Bobsattention. She was married, but they had an affair and the woman got pregnant. They decided she
would raise the child with her husband and tell the husband the baby was his. They agreed the
child would never know who their real dad was. Bob didnt even know if it was a boy or girl!
How do you know this entire information sir?
Not too long after my parents died I found a love letter from him in her things. The onlything I dont know is his last name.
Robert finished shinning the customers shoes, and said he hoped the man finds his
father. The man said thank you, and the customer went on his way.
A few months after their meeting at the subway shoe shine stand Robert Montgomery
died.
Roberts biological son never saw his father in person again. However, shortly after
Roberts death the son did receive a phone call from Roberts lawyer. Not only did the son findout that that friendly shoe shine man was his biological father, but the son also inherited his shoe
shine shop!
