Curriculum for each programme is meticulously planned, developed with the expertise of academics and researchers in specialized fields from other Universities; the syllabus is fine tuned in the Board of Studies; approved by the Academic Council. The curriculum is also reviewed through the departmental committee meeting which meets once a semester; various issues related to the execution of curricular and co-curricular activities are discussed. This process enables the Board of Studies to revise the curriculum periodically and redesign the courses wherever necessary, taking into account the UGC guidelines with necessary changes in the emerging scenario of regional, national and global levels; and the feedback of the students given at the departmental committee, invariably helps in designing the refined syllabus and also updating the curriculum at periodical intervals.
As a best practice in teaching-learning, self study units are introduced. A well planned time table is prepared including curricular and co-curricular activities including Gurukula, following CBCS regulations which provide a strong base for formulating a schedule of plan.
At the very commencement the students are informed of the University vision, mission, faculties, facilities, CBCS regulations, examination systems and the students are asked to register for each course in the respective programme in each semester. Students are supplied with an Academic calendar for every year which is strictly adhered to.
Slow and disadvantaged learners are identified by the Subject teacher and Guru and those students are provided with additional inputs and remedial coaching to improve their performance. Bridge course in English communication is also offered to all entrants.
Through weekly Gurukula system, the student - teacher interaction is strengthened.
Teaching staff are encouraged to participate in International/National conferences/ Seminars/Workshops/Training programmes to update their area of specialization and publish papers in reputed journals; participate in orientation/refresher courses/serve as members in Expert committees in other Universities/reputed National and International institutions. Teachers are encouraged to take up research by guiding Ph.D. and M.Phil. programmes.
Staff keep pace with the recent developments in various subjects through e- resources and provide the same to the students
Students are motivated to make use of the Department library. Computer facility to students to prepare power point presentation, browse material in the net and make e-books is available.
All Post Graduate students are motivated towards research in their academic programmes by preparing dissertations. The students are allotted to individual teachers and the students are assigned dissertation topics at the beginning of the year itself.
