1991/1992american foundations initiate a new grant program in prague for the environment and democracy called Environmental Partnership for Central Europe.

1994/1995the environmental partnership office moves to Brno and the czech foundation Nadace Partnerství is registered. we assist with the establishment of the Donor’s Forum in prague.

1998/1999we broaden our activities to include a new programme on cycling routes enti-tled Greenways. we begin cooperating with corporate donors and administer foreign aid programmes (Luxembourgh, Usa, Germany).

2001/2002we commence developing community planning methods and first “tree of the Year” contest. we also give out our first traffic calming award. this period also marks the active start of the public service organization Partnerství, o.p.s.

2004/2005we launch a successful donor SMS campaign for the Tatra Mountains. together with the charta 77 Founda-tion we iniate the Josef Vavroušek Award. we assist with preparation of the Veronica Centre in Hostětín—the first public passive building in the czech republic. we begin the Cyclists Welcome certification scheme.

2010/2011we help with coordination of Prince Charles’ visit to Hostětín. we launch Block Grants (from the swiss Financial Mechanism) for non-profit organi-zations. The Tree of the Year contest is expanded to the european level. we receive a donation for the construction of a passive building and educational garden with construction starting in fall 2011.

‘Seeing is believing,’ said Prince Charles during his 2010 visit to the model ecological village of Hostětín. Nadace Partnerství is intent on successfully fulfilling its mission over the next twenty years. We plan on doing this not only by supporting civil society and environmental work through grants and our environmental programmes, but also by transforming our Brno headquarters into an NGO educational centre with exemplary environmental technologies and management.
