HOUSING SITUATION
Gawad Kalinga Pago Housing. 100 Houses have been built. Goal is 1200 in this site and in 2 others. For fishing families in San Roque, Tanauan

Families are from the fishing village of San Roque.
GK Libertad. The one GK Housing beside the national road. Beneficiaries come from nearby and are working hard so
the homes will be ready by Christmas (140 homes).

GK San Agustin, Palo. My fourth visit to this site. 150 homes being funded by the Australian Government.
San Agustin is in the middle of rice-fields & beneficiaries are farm workers.

There was a community assembly going on and so we had a chance to talk with them - including a discussion about providing school
feeding for their children and a project to control schistosomiasis.
The one big project with the National Housing Authority. NHA does the land development. 5,000 homes are to be built here for the families
from San Jose, Tacloban, the area most devastated by Typhoon Haiyan.
First 400 houses from GMA 7 (TV network) Kapuso Foundation.
