Transpac Marine is one of very few companies that can boast a heritage of building boats in Asia going back nearly 50 years. Originally, experienced sailors, the Californian husband and wife team Nancy and Ennals Ives, had a 38' wooden sailboat built for themselves in Taiwan, but the result was so successful that they ended up building boats for their sailing friends and hence the birth of Transpac Marine. They matched their experience and knowledge of what Western boat buyers wanted in terms of strength, quality, integrity and value, by joining forces with local artisans and the managerial and marine expertise of Mary Chou, who, for many years, has been on the Board of Directors of the Taiwan Yacht Association.
