Pentecost Offering

June 2 and 9

How Is the Pentecost Offering

Used?

To help our new church

movement continue to take root!

Each year, half of this offering

stays in the local Region where

it’s collected to start and uphold

new churches. The other half is

used across the United States

and Canada by New Church

Ministry to support the

recruiting, assessing, training

and coaching of new church

leaders at events like Leadership

Academy.

Our church planters remain

committed to answering God’s

call . . . to serve their neighbors,

spread the gospel, and make

more Disciples. But they need

the nurturing and generous

support of people like you

through the 2019 Pentecost

Offering, June 2 and 9.

Please help our new church

movement continue to take root,

bear fruit . . . and grow more

Disciples every day!

The Dietert Center Take 5 Club offers memory im-

paired clients a safe place to interact and gives their

caregivers some personal time.

We recently had an opportunity to conduct a craft

session with the Take 5 clients making spring em-

bellished coasters. It was very rewarding for us and

the clients had a great time.

It does require one on one assistance, so we will be

looking for volunteers for our next session in June.

One hour/quarterly, no craft experience needed,

men and women, just a kind heart needed.

Contact me if you are interested. Katherin McCoy, 830-459-2926.

May Highlights: The children were super cute passing out the flowers on Mother’s Day. Thank you Katherin McCoy, Kit Hunter and friends for making the beautiful flowers!

It was a blessing to honor our graduates and their families on Graduation Sunday. Thank you to everyone who jumped in and helped with the clean up!

Blake Coe will be attending Texas State University majoring in Political Science and minoring in Mass Communication. Elijah Flores plans to further his music career locally. He is a talented guitarist. Melissa Noble will be pursuing a degree in Music Education at the University of Texas at San Antonio. BUTTONS & BOWS

Volunteers meet each Friday morning at the church pre-

paring items for this year's Bazaar in November. Vari-

ous types of workshops have recently been introduced,

as well. All are invited to join Mae Avery, who is provid-

ing materials and instructing in the making of beaded

necklaces, on June 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the church.

Jody Weikel (830-377-4619) has offered to put together a church cookbook. You

may give your recipes to either Jody or Deb McClain. Please include your name and,

if the recipe is in memory of someone, the name of the person being remembered

and a brief history of the recipe. You can also email your information to Jody

([email protected]). The cutoff for recipes will be Sept. 1.

COMMUNION HELP NEEDED

We are in need of help preparing and

serving communion in second service.

If you are willing to volunteer, please

call Judy Henley, 830-459-6601.

Please consider helping.

To the Congregation of First Christian Church, Thank you so much for your continued support to CMJC (Christian Men’s Job Corp) and our minis-tries. Our men’s classes are growing and we are impacting their lives, their families, and they are working hard to grow and become stronger in their faith, touching the lives of their families, employers, and our community. Thank you for your contribu-tion and mostly for loving and serving the Lord. Blessings,
