They are not asking you how many times you actually did something but, rather, do you have the ability to do the task. If the job is riding a bicycle, do they really care where you learned to ride the bicycle or do they care if you know how to? SEE!

• They are not asking you how many times you do an actual task. Only the government will ask you to do that kind of breakdown to what fraction of time per day did you perform each task. REPEAT RULE #2. • Do not assume that the computer (or for that fact an employer) will understand every aspect of your job and realize that they will not connect the dots for you. That is not their job, it is yours! If you really want the job connect the dots (match up your skills with their requirements). • Understand that this is required to get the job and that the more time you spend to do a quality application the better you chances are of getting called for an interview. Sales Associate Interview I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Burlington Coat Factory. INTERVIEW DETAILS – I talked to one of the managers in the main office. He asked what my availability was, how long I'd been shopping at Burlington, if I had thought there'd been any changes, about my previous work experience, and how my former employer would describe me. At the end, he told me I would be contacted the next day to be told whether or not I got the job. I was contacted three days later instead by another manager who asked me how I felt about working in the sales department. I was never even told I was hired, he just told me to bring my bank information to set up the direct deposit. I went to do that and he told me orientation was in two days. Orientation was two hours long, we got a tour of the store, we filled out paperwork, and we got our schedule for the next week. --------------------------------------------------------- Fitting Room Attendant Interview I applied online and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Burlington Coat Factory. INTERVIEW DETAILS – Applied online and got a call about 3 weeks later for a job interview. Met with HR and had a 5 minute interview. She scheduled an interview with store manager next

I was later invited to meet with the store manager during the interview process. The store manager was very dry and lacked personality. I felt like she didn't want to be there. INTERVIEW QUESTION –

Cashier Interview I applied online and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Burlington Coat Factory INTERVIEW DETAILS – I applied online, and a couple days later I got a call asking to come in for an interview. I showed up about 5 minutes early, and it took about another 10 minutes to get to my interviewer because they were so busy. I met with the Cashier Manager first (the one who called me) and she was super nice. She asked things like, "What experience and characteristics do you have that would make you a good fit here? Tell about a time when you had to be honest about a mistake you made." Things like that. Then she told me that was the end of the initial interview, and then she brought in the Store Manager for a second interview. She was also very nice. SHE ASKED THINGS LIKE:

• What are your plans for the future? • What is your standard of customer service and how to you achieve that? • Tell of a time when you were in a team.

She told me she thought I would be a good fit here and offered me a job on the spot, pending drug test, etc. INTERVIEW QUESTION – Tell of a time when you had to take initiative. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Retail Associate Interview I applied online and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Burlington Coat Factory INTERVIEW DETAILS – You will speak to the hiring manager and answer basic interview questions such as:

Make sure you have a clear idea of your availability. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Reason for Declining – The manager was really kind, willing to find the best work area for me and work with my schedule. However, my school schedule was still undetermined and it was my top priority.
